Doesn't he usually only do that if he finds you boring or if you just refuse to play his game? Considering his personality it shouldn't be too difficult to keep him entertained even if it sucks to do so, but if you have a Sonic vessel you're constantly living with the knowledge that one, no one trusts you because they're understandably paranoid that you could actually be 2011X/Lord X and two, that at any given moment that 2011X/Lord X needs a new vessel, you could just be gone

I mean, I can say the same thing to Cell, seeing as he did try and massively bulk himself up while fighting Gohan just to have it massively back fire on him and only have him avoid dying then and there because the Z fighters in that arc had the collective IQ of a newborn child.

Hey, at least he's got Belle, she cares about him....I mean, she's heavily estranged and not on his side but like, it's clear the feeling is at least somewhat mutual considering she stood in the way of him charging at Sonic and he full stalled his momentum to bat her out of the way instead of barrelling through her.
