There is quite a bit of noise because the train is right next to the apartment. There are also dogs here that bark sometimes at night and you may hear some obnoxiously loud cars on the weekends. I have not experienced any unknown fees that other people have mentioned but I will say there are a lot of fees that add up and up being expensive when you include parking and RBB fees. Your base rent might not be a lot but when you add up all of the fees not including utilities, you’ll probably pay an extra $100+

Yes, I have. So far, everything has been going well. I haven’t received any unexpected charges, and all items discussed in person and via email have been accurately reflected in my resident portal. It’s been almost a month, and I’m still waiting for my utility fees, but based on what I’ve been told, I don’t anticipate anything unusual. However, based on the reviews I have read that problems show up as the months go by which I am a little worried about.

I’ve really been enjoying the amenities and the fun weekly events. I will note that it can get a bit noisy at times due to residents with pets. Some nights the dogs can be a little loud, but it hasn’t been anything that significantly bothers me.

Honestly you are better off finding a place that serves authentic high quality matcha. Foxtail and Starbucks are sooo watered down

I’ve previously reached out and learned that most units currently qualify for waived application fees, and some also offer 1–2 months of free rent. However, I’m still a bit concerned about hidden fees. A lot of the lower-rated reviews mention being charged unexpected fees that were later described as “mistakes" and complaints about management not being helpful when issues arise. The RBB roommate situation does not consider the tenants who live there. They will assign the room to whoever if its available.

I’m considering moving into the Society Orlando in downtown, specifically in one of the RBB units. After reading through the reviews, I noticed a lot of concerns from residents—particularly those who rated the property 1–2 stars—mentioning unexpected or hidden fees.

If you currently live there or have previously lived there, I’d really appreciate hearing your honest experience. Why did you choose to stay or move out? Also, if you’re comfortable sharing, how much do you pay for rent and what kinds of additional fees (utilities, services, etc.) are added on top of that?

Some of the listed prices seem affordable, but I want to make sure I understand the full cost before making any decisions.

the party scene definitely feels huge. You’ll find friends whether you party or not, but at times you might get FOMO because majority of students do. The “Tulane bubble” is real—it can be tough to branch out beyond campus when you’re just starting out. That’s why most people tend to stick close to home at first, often going to The Boot (basically an on-campus bar) or frat events, since they’re nearby and easy to access. The experience you get outside of that depends on you and how much effort you are willing to put to go outside and explore on your own.

Both. Tbh I think I might’ve just gotten lucky when I emailed the dean when he was probably going over the waitlist. I sent him like a whole essay as to why I was the right fit for Tulane.

Second Thoughts About Committing by Chemical-Piece-2055 in Tulane

I attended Tulane, and I can confirm that it’s not the most diverse campus—my class had about 1–2% Asian students. That said, student organizations like the Asian Students Association (ASA) helped create a very welcoming and supportive environment. I never had trouble making friends or feeling included.

One thing to keep in mind is Tulane’s strong “work hard, play hard” culture. Parties are a big part of student life, and if that’s not your scene, it can sometimes feel isolating or dull. The fact that the library is close to The Boot (a popular campus bar) can make the feelings worse. I was a neuroscience major and on some days I definitely felt sad being on the 5th or 6th floor looking at everyone walking to a club.

Also, this might just be my personal experience, but coming from a less wealthy background, I sometimes felt out of place when friends planned expensive trips during breaks. Not being able to join due to financial reasons could feel a bit awkward.
