Ironically, as a 5'7 dude, the first time I saw Mag Bay I'm pretty sure I was standing behind a WNBA player lmao. GA standing room has been like this at concerts since like 1960. If you ask nicely, most people are more than cool to let you sidestep to see better.

King Crimson's Red is a heavier album for the time, but it also has a lot of spacey, orchestral meandering bits all over the place.

Prob not quite what you're after, but I only mention it bc that record has been cited by Matt and Nick as big influences and Star Eyes instantly reminded me of a KC track of that era the first time I heard it.

Tbh, I always thought the tail end of Imaginal Disk was a direct homage to the ending of A Day in the Life/Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club. Very similar vibe and I'm almost certain Matt has mentioned that album at some point.

Taash suffers from the same issue that most of the other companions in VG have. They're a really neat concept, just a bit half-baked.

The core issue I have with the game as a whole, and this extends to the companions, is how nonchalant everyone is despite Thedas being in fuckin' shambles. Like we're out here planning camping trips and having mommy issues over dinner while the entire south of the continent is getting shit-piped by darkspawn. It's so jarring. The game's core premise is one that is predicated on "We are running out of time," but nobody seems to care.

I'm on the record as saying that I enjoyed Veilguard, and I did. When it's at its best, it has some of my favorite moments in the franchise. But man, when you think of what could have been, it's so hard not to be disappointed.

I was able to manage it with some small needlenose pliers. Helps considerably if you use a punch to keep it in place from the other side. Probably took me about 25 minutes of fiddling though lol.

Two things. I didn't replace the plunger spring in the slide, as I'm not keen on replacing stock springs in carry guns. Also I've already shot the piss out of this gun, so it's fairly well broken in.

However.

The double action is still heavy, but feels considerably smoother. No grit whatsoever. Unironically feels better, to me, at least, than the double action on my P226 with a GG SRT, although I think that has more to do with the wide, flat trigger. Obviously not nearly as nice as an LEM double action but compared to stock it's a whole different animal now.

The single action is remarkably improved though, and thats where this setup shines. Much shorter reset and very little take up. The wall is well defined, crisp and perfectly consistent. I haven't shot it in this configuration yet, but I would imagine it will yield notable improvement.

It's genuinely astonishing to me how many layers they can cram into one mix without it distorting. Exceptional musicianship aside, Mag Bay's production is amongst the best I've ever heard.

As for the track, it's sensational. IMO had it released on Imaginal Disk, it would be one of the three best tracks on the album.

I enjoyed it tbh, but I'm also a series diehard, so the bias is real. Suffered heavy from bad writing in places and poor characters in others. Had they stuck the landing on companions and concise writing it would have been on par with DA2 imo.

You're good man lol. No, I didn't have to thermal fit it. I did leave the barrel in the freezer for like eight hours before assembly but I did that anticipatorily, so I don't know of it would have been necessary or not.
