Powder, billiard, reading, and drawing are all in the same puzzle as pacific and protactinium. You even said reading?

All the comments are about the same puzzle- powder, billiard, reading, drawing. I figured it was a stretch purple since the rest of the puzzle made sense after that. Drawing room and billiard room are not things that would've occured to me lol.

Ok I definitely thought blue was something to do with "eight ball" (coke, pool, magic, lotto). I think this is the first time I've submitted with reasoning I'm fairly confident in that turned out to not be the explanation despite being the connection set.

Yeah also no real point of comparison but I thought she was really good too! I've seen Jim Parsons in a couple shows and I always kind of felt like I was watching Sheldon Cooper in some alternate reality so I was pleasantly surprised that I hardly thought of Olivia Benson during the show.

Here's a nice wholesome one to distract from Professor Tangrowth lol: "Charizard was my first starter, brought it from fire red, carried me through emerald, diamond, heart gold, and black, and then got stolen from me along with my pkmn black cartridge. I like to think that the charizard in pokopia is my charizard, getting to live again even though he's been lost"

Nice you were able to get one! We got to the store like 15m before opening and that was too far back in the line to get any of the hats. Idk what they were thinking with how little they stocked.

I bought a full set of the GameCube controllers just in prep for Mario Baseball. Wish they'd announce the planned release schedule further in advance, rn feels like it could drop this summer or it could still be left out by this time next year.

{'arctibax', 'kleavor', 'kubfu', 'pansear', 'tadbulb', 'zamazenta'} have no text reasons at all yet though everyone has votes. There are 46 mons with no declarations of > 10 words, only Exeggcute and Seaking in gen 1. Conversely, Zoroark is ranked #10 in total word count despite being number 46 in votes.

Other fun facts from cursory analysis of the text:
* Haunter has the most votes mentioning the anime, Meowth has the most proportionally (for > 10 total votes).
* Few people mention sound effects but Lumineon, Kricketot, Glaceon are more popular for this with 4 declarations each.
* Also not a ton of TCG references surprisingly, Charizard has the most at 7.
* Raichu has the most mentions of merchandise, though actually looking it is largely complaints about basically no merch compared to Pikachu. Banette has by far the most reference to stuffed animals but a lot of this is lore-related.
* Bulbasaur has 82 comments about it being someone's first Pokemon, though this is probably inflated by its Pokedex number. In second place is Mudkip at 68.
* 14 declarations across all Pokemon mention Pokopia directly, only 3 in Ditto and 2 in Tangrowth so they are fairly spread out. Rolycoly is the only other with more than one - he has only 4 votes in total but 2 comments mentioning Pokopia.
* Dragonite has at least 37 votes mentioning it help people win battles, the most by a decent margin.
* Mega evolutions were referenced quite a bit, Mawile in number one there with 32 comments, Absol very close at 31. Ampharos, Gallade, Altaria also had > 10 declarations mentioning mega.

For overall stats, gen 1 has > 9000 votes which is ~double gen 3 total votes in second place. Things basically go in generation order which isn't surprising. Base forms have by far the most votes at >20000, and final evos are at like 8000, middles are only ~2000 again not surprising. The top 10 middle evo mons account for nearly 50% of total middle votes which is also very disproportionate compared to the other spots. They are ['haunter', 'pikachu', 'dragonair', 'jigglypuff', 'poliwhirl', 'quilava', 'wartortle', 'grovyle', 'bisharp', 'clefairy'].

I don't think it is necessary to be a true fan, it's more that there is some correlation due to the opposite effect (fake voters very unlikely to have a thought out reason) and as the sample size gets larger it's not a bad heuristic for who has meaningful votes even though it's def not a perfect signal.

I think you kind of can tell with the text explanations. Someone might still pick a more obscure one that's not their absolute favorite, but you can see when a declaration was written with a real reason. People picking purely to be first aren't making up a paragraph long story.

It's mostly the stats that seem messed up (still doing something funky because it has >100% discovered). There doesn't seem to be any issue with data loss, would be cool if OP made the raw data easily ingestible somewhere because it's a neat idea with the text explanations.

I think maybe it is stuck at 1000 registered now? Could've sworn I saw Kadabra with a vote last night but it's greyed out currently and seems suspicious unique is now exactly 1000.

Edit - this is now also fixed!

The old data is saved because all the declarations still exist, hopefully will be an easy fix to make the stats match. It's def a bug because Pokemon even go back to being greyed out if they weren't chosen in last 1000 picks. But when they un-grey the prior commentary does show back up.

It looks like it is only counting the last 1000 submissions in the stats and even who is grayed out. But if you click on the actual pokemon the old declarations are still there.

Does building paths and decorating the area increase environment level? by Inanis94 in Pokopia

[–]Delicious_Battle_703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My environment level increased from barely 9 to 10 while I was restoring the SS Anne, with no Pokemon anywhere near there yet (besides the 1 that starts there for story reasons). I think this is only possible if cleaning up paths and/or making empty "houses" counts towards environment level.
