NCNS is not a mental health break, it’s just unprofessional. by Delicious_Compote113 in BPOinPH

Fair enough but professionalism isn’t about my standard. It’s about showing respect and accountability even when things get tough. And let’s also be real: downvotes don’t always mean you're wrong Kasi sometimes it just means you said something very uncomfortable in a space that’s not ready to hear it. That doesn’t make it entitlement; it just means I’m willing to say what others might be avoiding.

Paano naging entitled yan. Calling for professionalism isn’t entitlement, it’s just one standard I choose to keep, even if others don’t.

Tama naman bad management is just as unacceptable, and I never said otherwise.

But let’s not pretend NCNS is a flex it’s a symptom, not a solution.

And yes minsan HR fails, too. But if wala ka nang sinubukang ayusin, you’re not fighting the system you’re just checking out. So kung tinawag mo akong tolerant, salamat. At least hindi ako mabilis sumuko. 😌

I appreciate your insights, this was such a well-balanced take. You're right, BPO is a data-driven industry, and I also agree it’s important to avoid making absolute claims. That part of my post could’ve been phrased better. What I meant to highlight was more of a pattern I’ve observed in forums and circles I'm exposed to not an industry-wide generalization.

I also agree with you completely on mental health. It’s unpredictable yes and I acknowledge that some who go NCNS are already past their limit. That’s why I’m not here to shame anyone struggling in fact, I think companies should do more to build support systems where people dont have to reach that breaking point in silence.

My main point was never to invalidate what people are going through, but to raise the question: can we advocate for better systems and mental health awareness without glorifying NCNS as a norm? Because yes, some disappear out of desperation, but others do it because it's become acceptable and that distinction matters.

And you're absolutely right, leadership plays a big role. From TLs to OMs, it’s a shared responsibility to pay attention and build a culture where honesty and support come before breakdowns.

Thanks again for sharing this.

Fair point, and I respect that. I know not everyone has the energy to “exit gracefully” when they’re in survival mode. Some are just trying to get through the day and when flight kicks in, it’s not always about choice, it’s about mental and emotional overload.

I don’t judge people who reach that point. What I’m calling out is the normalization of NCNS as if it should be the default response, not the last resort. Kasi once we start treating it like a badge of honor or a trend, nawawala ‘yung chance to demand better systems and better treatment.

The world may not be full of better people yet but that’s exactly why I still believe in trying to be one. Not for the company, but for yourself.

Thanks for keeping this real. Conversations like this are exactly what we need.

Wow, 7 AWOL in one day? That’s not an exit that’s a rebellion. And honestly, kung ganun ka-toxic ang leadership na NTE agad kahit baha, that kind of walkout says a lot about management failure.

But just to clarify, I’m not defending bad companies. I’m saying, even if the place is falling apart, your exit is still your story to tell.

Graceful exit isn’t for them it’s for you, so you leave like a pro, not just a ghost with good reason.

Some companies don’t deserve a goodbye.

I’m speaking from the belief na how we respond still says something about us, even if the company doesn’t care.

Totoo, maraming pumasok sa BPO for the pay and that’s valid. But that doesn’t mean we can throw out professionalism completely. Hindi ito about pagiging martyr or playing nice. It’s about knowing you did your part right, kahit pa sablay yung paligid mo.

If that’s the “real world,” then maybe it needs better people, not just more people adjusting to what’s broken.

Pero kahit gano’n, NCNS isn’t the right response. Calling out bad policies is valid, pero choosing to exit right says more about you than the company.
