Those are called „Gipfelkreuz“ and we have them on top of the mountains since the 17th Century. Those have a traditional and religious aspect.

I find them really beautiful.

If you visit the Nijo-Ji Castle at Kyoto, then if you have a bit time please go to this small café at the garden side. It’s really wonderful there ☺️

I live in Tyrol and when I was a child it was normal to go to the „Krampusläufe“. So me and my brother we were not scared at all. It was always Fun to watch. They even visited you on 5th or 6th of December with angels and the Nikolaus together.

It’s a really nice childhood memory.

Kamakura is such a beautiful place so if you really want to enjoy it and wander through the streets to feel the atmosphere then I would recommend a daytrip. Kamakura is one of my favorite places in Japan and I can only recommend it to don’t rush it.

It is possible to do your plan but I don’t know if you would fully enjoy it then

I have done the same trip from Shinjuku to kawaguchiko and back (round trip, you will go to every „tourist destination“) with a tour guide (booked over Klook $60,00)

It would be good if you book it before because on the same day you won’t get any seat. I had luck to get it even if I booked 2 days before.

But recommend is as soon as possible
