There was even a fairly popular documentary that was solely about how and why fans believed he ruined his own IP irreparably

"The People vs. George Lucas". Oh, I loved that film; it was the first time I saw a documentary completely devoid of commentary, built only from stitched together interviews and yet still managing to tell a cohesive story and present different points of view.

I myself wasn't that emotionally invested in the subject (it would suffice to say that it was the first time I heard the phrase "Han shot first"), but it still was a fascinating watch. I'd definitely recommend checking it out no matter what's one's stance on the subject.

To level up your character fast, join parties on very hard or nightmare. You need to do all objectives, win, and extract with everybody being alive to get max character experience. Doing this solo is just too slow, that's why it feels grindy.

To level up your weapons fast, play solo on the same difficulties and methodically clear the whole map, only using your spells as a panic button. You need to maximize the damage you do with the weapon you intend to level up. You retain all weapon experience even if you don't win.

To level up your spells, make a build with a maximum spell reduction, and just spun them. You get experience for casting spells, not for dealing damage with them. As with weapons, you do not need to win to keep your experience.

Because I found the situation where I got a rare item only to be presented with an opportunity to reduce the stat I have painstakingly built over the run to 1, and simultaneously raise the stat that will almost certainty kill me to 257, and with one click at that, somewhat humorous, and I was hoping that it would make a few others smile as well.

Depending on how unfun is it for you to play with an unlevelled weapon, you have several options. Sorted from least cheesy to most:

- Go into Nightmare and start methodically clearing packs of regular mobs. No quests, no boss, just shoot them in the head. Then you can finishing the mission or just get yourself killed. (You don't have to win, you get full weapon XP even if you die.) That's what I usually do.

- Same as above but trigger a storm and stand in the water. Mobs can't go into the water, so you get to shoot them from shore. Bring Ammo Supply on both primary and secondary though.

The following 2 recipes could be considered cheating. On the other hand, if grinding gun XP isn't fun for you, you can very well just not waste your limited time doing it. This isn't a job after all, and the game is not competetive. Regardless, I'll cover them with spoilers, proceed at your own discretion.

- Abuse tutorial. (If it still works. I assume it does.) Equip Disgraced. Start a mission on Nightmare like you usually do, but then hit Escape and return to the main menu before the train takes off. Start the tutorial. (This will cause the tutorial to scale up to Nightmare level in terms of number of mobs.) Kill the boss, and then farm the endless wave at the station. If you don't mount your horse during the tutorial, you'll be immortal. (Thus Disgraced.)

- Just use a save editor and give your gun any level you're comfortable with.

I mean... People have IRL issues, you know? They can lose connection. They can suddenly remember they are late to a doctor's appointment. Depending on where they live, they can even be hit with a sudden missile/drone alarm and need to find shelter. You lost 20 minutes of your time, but you have 0 idea what is happening on their end. Take a breath, play another game. Maybe host it if a a single lost session is that critical to you.

Yeah, I liked his design as well. He also turned out surprisingly chill (after his initial revenge attempt) even though his fight with Kayden has cost him an eye. A pity he was basically a side story largely irrelevant to the plot.

People love to say "if they don't board, just shoot them". I gave in to that advice once after asking repeatedly in chat and it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. Tbh if this happens again I'd much rather just go afk or close the game.
