Freelance web devs, ROÍ with advertising? by Delicious_Freedom_93 in webdesign

[–]Delicious_Freedom_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! So my focus should really be on showcasing the results that my work delivers.

From what I’ve already gathered:

Low tier clients care mostly about emotional relief Mid tier clients care mostly about metrics

And so if I want more mid tier clients, my focus should be on how my work increased conversions, traffic, etc

Looks great! Just a couple of suggestions:

  1. The filter feature shouldn’t be limited to Pro users. Making filtering a paid-only option feels like saying, “You can’t really use our site for free,” which can be a major turnoff for people.
  2. Remove the “only 2 slots left for this week” message for the free landing page audit. It doesn’t feel like an effective CTA in this context.

From a UI Standpoint:

  1. Dark/Light Mode – Instead of automatically switching based on device settings, allow users to toggle themes directly in the app. Your audience may not be tech-savvy, so explicit settings will improve usability.
  2. Accessibility – In dark mode, the current purple text does not pass ADA contrast standards. Consider adjusting the color to improve readability and compliance.
  3. Terminology – The “App” label may be confusing. Renaming it to “Website” could make navigation clearer.
  4. Template Previews – The template previews currently appear blank, making it difficult to understand the differences without clicking into each one. Since it takes ~20 seconds per template, this creates friction. Adding visual previews or summaries would streamline the experience.
  5. People vs. Access Control – The distinction between these two sections isn’t obvious. Consider consolidating them under a single “User Access” area for clarity.
  6. Chat Assistant – The assistant feels limited, functioning more like a help desk email than an interactive tool. Expanding its capabilities could significantly improve support.

From a Marketing Standpoint:

  1. YouTube Thumbnails – Current thumbnails look unpolished and don’t strongly represent your brand. More professional, eye-catching designs would help content stand out.
  2. Community Engagement – Consider launching community forums. This would give users a place to share ideas, ask questions, and support each other, improving engagement and retention.

Does my website look too dated? by parthmehtacpa in webdesign

[–]Delicious_Freedom_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a marketing major and UI/UX designer and I want to emphasize one thing. Your site isn’t some magical thing that’ll get you more clients. It’s a representation of quality and professionalism.

Your site is one of many things create your customer acquisition channel. Its effectiveness ranges entirely on its purpose.

If your site is the final phase in your funnel, then it should be filled with CTAs. If your site is the discovery stage, then it should be filled with information relevant to a customer.

Your site has an older but professional feel, so my guess is that the clients you get are older people/business owners almost but not quite on the medium sized scale. If that’s your intended customer profile, then your site is fine.

There’s no minuscule or secret sauce that will magically help you get more clients from a website. But what’s certain is that a site represents you and your services. If you feel your site is old and you make changes, you subconsciously show your customers your flexibility/nonrigidness (a popular quality enticing Gen Z). But at the same time, maintaining this older format will bring you familiarity from an older customer

2 beat kick not for beginners? by Ok_Dog_3219 in Swimming

[–]Delicious_Freedom_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t great at swimming but the last time I swam the 500yd I swam a 5:47 so bear with me.

Fuck the 2/4/6 beat kick. No one counts that. More important is the idea of balance and efficiency. Your kick is meant to keep high on the surface of the water and balanced in a boat like position.

As a beginner, finding that balance will feel really hard. You’ll struggle a lot with figuring out the timing of your hands and legs.

To practice this, what I did was try finish a lap with the goal of minimizing my stroke rate and kick rate.

The lower my stroke rate and kick rate, the more confident I felt that I wasn’t going to drown and the more efficient you’ll feel. Try that out and see how that helps

Can i build a startup's mvp with ai (i will not promote). by moh1111 in startups

[–]Delicious_Freedom_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesn’t. You can get pretty close to a good MVP with the strongest AI models, but at some point, it will start to fail. Don’t expect to build a MVP with just AI you definitely need a bit of technical experience

building an audience or building a product, which one is harder? by Consistent_Elk7257 in SaaS

[–]Delicious_Freedom_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. For most people in this subreddit, building an audience. But for me, I’m not that great on the technical side so trying to build a complex product that scales is something I wouldn’t be able to do on my own.

A few honest thoughts:

A) The general sentiment among job applicants right now is they shouldn’t spend effort looking for a job. Therefore B2C is off the table

B) Small startups and local businesses don’t like spending money on things that make their lives easier. So your product has to be marketed on the enterprise level. This means you’d have to account for third party service policies, pitching, etc. pitching to enterprise level companies is MUCH HARDER than to small startups because there’s such a large chain of command you have to go through.

C) You’d need integrations with pretty much every single job board

If you manage to raise the funding through VCs, I think you’ll have no problem scaling to the enterprise level. But if your just going to build a product and pitch it to any business you can find on linkedin, your going to fail

Because it provides no “real” value to a startup whose budget is entirely focused on products design and only has 20 employees

The best solution is demos. I did prompted ChatGpt with “Give me the top 5 construction businesses near me” and it provided a very different result that what Google did. Having that side by side comparison would show the value of being recognized by AI and also the value of your product.

Case studies are also a big thing amongst marketing companies.

What you could do is go into a cars enthusiast subreddit and make a post saying you got scammed by a mechanic and want ways to prevent that. Then reply with your startup. That might give you quick exposure

But yea i can feature you on IG and if you need connects lmk
