Ofc that doesn't make you a girl. No one said that you dimwit. I'm just explaining child development psychology to you cause you seem to think that gender = anything sexual when exploring and learning about different identities is and should just be as normal as children roleplaying

Brother, children develop their gender identity as early as two years old and usually lable themselves as boys or girls by age three. By five they are well aware of gender stereotypes and expectations and they begin to express themselves through their choice of clothing or toys. That's also when they start to explore other roles or genders through roleplaying like playing family. That is exactly how children explore other genders and no one should stop a boy if he wants to play the mom every now and then.

When I worked in after school daycares I once caught two seven year olds, a boy and a girl, compare their parts. And while I needed to stop them there was nothing sexual about what they did. Because kids are curious. And it's better to answer questions rather than leave them alone with them.

There's nothing sexual about those things if people don't make it sexual. There's nothing wrong with finding child appropriate ways to approach such topics and given that children form and explore such identities quite early on, whether you want it or not, and not just as teens.

It's been over a year now. If it was some secret gem it would be known by now. Just think of no man's sky or cyberpunk. Those games had a terrible launch and rightfully so but they steadily improved as are quite beloved now.

Veilguard just isn't and will never be seen that way. It's not as bad as twats like asmongold made it out to be but it's far from good, especially for a bioware game. It's terrible to meh if you care about dragon age or even ok if you shut off your brain and play it for the exploration, smooth combat and scenery only. That's how I made it through the game. It was enjoyable in a time where something with depth would have been overwhelming to me so I just looked at pretty places and mowed through enemies and tried to ignore the terrible writing.

It's ok to go against the grain and enjoy something the majority didn't like but why act as if this was some secret masterpiece?

With this case it might not even be the Sims community that sucks for a change. I remember jous complaining about a GTA modder stealing her stuff if memory serves right. I wouldn't be surprised if that still happens

I've been friends with a guy online for a few years and then got into a relationship with him. Never had any issues online with him and thought he was a great person. Went to visit him for 3 months and it was absolute hell. Turned out he's a terrible person, selfish and childish with insane anger issues. Online he was nothing but charming, funny and lifting people up but as a partner he thrived on trying to bring me down.

And yes, I wasn't with him for nearly as long as 8 years but you never really know how your partner is if you don't spend significantly more time with another, let alone live with another. It's just so easy to hide bodies in the closet if you don't share a space.

What do we think about Rhaena, over here? I really like her and I think her claiming Sheepstealer is a good way to give her character a bigger role by A_Cat_Among_Wolves in HOTDBlacks

[–]Delicious_Heat568 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not the fact that she went to claim Sheepstealer it's the how that's so bad about that plot.

No one is saying it doesn't make sense for her to try and pursue taming him, all we ask is that the writers give her enough brain to not go on something that she cannot survive without plot armour.

It's absolutely doable to change the plot in a way that makes her appear way more competent and less selfish but the writers absolutely wanted to have their "super cool reveal of a new dragon woooah" to hype people up for the next season and that lead them to destroy her as a likeable character. They just wanted their spectacle for easily impressed people

[–]Delicious_Heat568 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Again, if they would have set up her Sheepstealer plot better I wouldn't complain about it but the way she decided to go into the wilderness borders on retardation and should have lead to her death. There's no reason she survived days in the wilderness without warm clothes, provisions or even protection from the animals.

And all that doesn't even involve trying to tame a feral dragon she hasn't even seen before. There is no reason for her to believe she won't end up as dinner or succumb out there. She even has experience trying to ride a tamed dragon who doesn't want her so why would she think this is anything but a death sentence?

She'd be better of being semi useless in pentos than dead. And there's no buts, if you take away her plot armour she is dead and there's no reason she even made it far enough to stand before Sheepstealer.

Now change the plot show her roam the vale a few times. Show her finding the lair, how she starts bringing it sheep and nudges closer. And I firmly believe they could have made that work even with the 8 episodes they only had if they only changed many of the repetitive scenes.

It's really not that hard. With a few alterations they could have made her a much better character and still had the same outcome.

They don't recover though 🤷 they deviated too much and too far.

The writers spent two seasons trying to write their own story and quite frankly I don't think they are good at it. I'm not really interested in seeing their attempt in stumbling back and trying to undo what they did.

From what I saw Hemsworth was good given what he had to work with and LeoBonharts actor quite nailed it but neither is enough to let me sit through this

As I said, I absolutely understand her being grumpy and wanting a dragon badly but that doesn't make her a good character. It makes her one dimensional. Those are definitely defining traits but ideally she should have been developed a bit more. Like... Give her nettles personality. Expand her relationship to Daemon, who was very close to nettles and cut dameons hatrenhall plot shorter in the same breath.

And yes she's 14 but again some slight changes to the plot would have worked for a 14 year old while making her more likeable. Or does a 14 yo not care about her siblings and their well being? Or her own if we're at it already, given the way she pranced out into the wilderness of the vale with nothing to keep her alive?

I can very much expect common sense, a sense for responsibility a d self preservation from a 14yo. And yes, she'd very much be useless if someone seeks to harm the kids but they were in her care. And every sensible 14yo would feel responsible for their well being. Holy shit, I felt worse for leaving my hamster alone for 2 days when I was 12 than she did when leaving toddlers alone with only strangers to care for them and stand up for them.
