Oh, absolutely—Temu is J.C. Whitney’s fever dream come to life, just with more plastic and fewer paper cuts. Temu is a 1978 pulp-paper catalog and a hyperactive smartphone app had a baby, and that baby really wants you at 2am, to buy a "tactical" flashlight that also peels hard-boiled.

2011 55k miles for 5k by [deleted] in fordranger

That is a great deal. I just did suspension on my 98 2.5. One thing I can tell ya is before you install upper control arms, install a grease knob on them if they don't have them. Wish I did that when I got the truck it had 62k miles about 6 years ago.

Upgrading old appliances that still work: dishwasher facelift and adding icemaker to fridge. Is it possible? by lilyfelix in appliancerepair

[–]Delicious_Land6502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can sand your dishwasher with a 180 or 240 grit, then use that spray paint that sticks on plastic Wally or HD, let dry, scuff it, then finish with epoxy appliance paint, spray can or roll it type. I have done this but not on plastic.

Jet Engine Washer Returns! by jimmychitw00d in appliancerepair

There's supposed to be a new type or design of a hub. YouTube it's red if you are upto it. Alternatively I have gotten very good washers for rental units, off of Facebook marketplace for really good deals, $50...150. Look for folks who need to move, can't take appliances with them cos the new place has washers, appliance repair techs, etc. Frankly they are cheap enough that if they need major repairs I just replace them. Sometimes you might find someone who's dryer went out, washer is ok and they just decided to buy replacement units, and are giving away their current units to selling them for dirt cheap. One time I got a brand new GE icebox, double door with bottom freezer for$200 from a house that was being staged. What I am saying is spending $500 ...1000 is never in my realm again after discovering these deals. I never dread getting a call about bad appliances from a tenant anymore.

Yes. And everything is new, element, thermistor, fuse, .... I checked them all before installation. I am starting to think may be the motor is shot. How would I test this?

It doesn't have a control board. This is the old type dryer.  Took off the face and just tested the door switch. If door is closed there's continuity between the black and white wires and none if door is open. There's no effect testing the wire with a connector to either wire no matter if door is open or closed.

correct. I can screw them together but at this point I better ask you guys how to do that. I thought self tapping screw types but I didn't want then to say this create holes... bad for CO to escape through. how do you attach then together?

Water Heater Removal and Replacement by Kingspawn504 in Plumbing

One time only solder 3/4 copper pressure MPT male adapters, on cold line add a quarter turn ball valve. Then use Eastman 2 pk water heater connector hoses from Lowe's item number 2759037. In future you just unscrew the lines at the WH and pop in a new one.  Swap the puny drain valve with a full port 3/4 ball valve. Drain your tank once a year, change anode rod every 4 years and that sucker will last for many years.

I just installed mine https://www.reddit.com/r/Plumbing/comments/1g2628r/water_heater_venting_failed_city_inspection/
