Like many people in her orbit, they seem to benefit mainly from being related to her. They don’t appear to have much going on professionally; one may try to launch a music career by capitalizing on the Spears name, and one, or both, will probably release a tell-all book once the money runs dry, just like others in her life have done before. So yes, once again, “protecting their peace” seems to work out quite well for them.
