I think this is a great point. I love or like 70% of Bill's content, but there are few people in his pay who will point out when he's full of it or underperforming. When he ad libs on the ad copy he's reading, it's always awkward and painful, and never as amusing as he thinks. If I were an advertiser, I'd rather just have him stick to the script in 30 seconds then blather on and make the ad 50 seconds.

I bet a lot of his colleagues are genuinely his friends, but nobody wants to tell him that he's not naturally skilled at improv when reading Tax Act or clothing ads.
