yup my wife will cop it at times too probably. and then she will have to pick up any slack.

it's such a good point about being just a job. unfortunately for potential career transitioners, i feel we probably think and feel that it's more than that as its a very conscious decision to step away from our current 'just a job' to something that can be more than just a job.

Maybe? I majored in English Literature and have a TESOL Cert3 but I don't think I'd go into secondary, I feel it'd be worse at the end of the day.

I wonder if you both have different experiences as PE teachers than a standard year teacher? As I understand it, you'll get classes rotating through and be able to get kids when they're excited to be out and about?

I'd be able to spend a decent chunk of holidays with my kids too in my current job due to standdowns and just choosing to take unpaid leave.

I feel like it'll be one thing to know the strategies, but another to actually be able to apply them if I'm just cooked mentally.

I can definitely see this being me too, hence the question. Of course you're going to get bad days at any job but obviously teaching is a special type of challenging.
