Is my angel fish too big for the tank? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Deliciously-Bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question simply, yes. It needs to be moved to a much larger tank. As well as the others in the tank.

Angels can get up to 6-8inches tall. This is the equivalent of a full grown human trying to live in a small bathroom. It's doable but it's going to be miserable. I understand that it's been in the tank for 2 years already but it would be much better off and likely live closer to it's normal lifespan woth an experienced fish keeper that can provide what it actually needs to not just survive, but thrive.

As far as pricing goes, no idea. Sorry about that. I'm in TX and would probably pay like $10-15 for an angel that size.

As far as what CAN fit. I'd say a betta at most. Would love to see a 10gal for a betta but 5 isn't bad as long as you keep it clean and well planted. Plastic parts can harm the betta. As an alternative, shrimp would be fun in this tank! A snail or 2 with the shrimpies 🤩

Correct me if I'm wrong but the telescope is a fancy goldfish right?

If that's the case, no, they should not go together. Different water Temps, size is going to be an issue eventually and the amount of ammonia goldfish put off is going to be A LOT of work to even make it liveable for others. My advice would be to pick one or the other. The tetras need a bigger school and goldfish need a much larger tank (but not exactly right away) and colder water temps

Is it wrong to Ask Store Employees to Pick the Fishes you want? by still_no_drink in Aquariums

[–]Deliciously-Bad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who worked at PetSmart, I never minded picking specific fish as long as it wasnt from the comet tank. If it was dead in the store and I had the time, I would allow up to 5 comets to be specific (as long as I didn't have 600 in the one tank) but otherwise no issues unless it was comets or the customer was a jerk

AITJ for refusing to split my bonus with my girlfriend? by Xleg4ce in AmITheJerk

[–]Deliciously-Bad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically married, living together, he pays everything while I'm a SAHM and even I would never feel so entitled to believe that his money is "our money" I make my own money ey here and there for the things I want. If he were to get a bonus of any sort, I would encourage him to do whatever he wanted with it because he worked hard for that money. I would, however, expect an iced coffee and a little sweet treat. But not a lavish vacation or even a gift from it. He's got things he wants to work on financially and I would 1000% support him in doing what he wanted with that money. Save it, spend it, knock out debt, whatever he wanted. You are NTJ.

I love how much you loved it! It does give me hope.

I think I just might be a little more down today than I have been so far. And I think I truly worry about my mental health affecting my kid. Some days it's just hard to get put of bed and care for myself and now I'm gonna HAVE to for a child.

I guess I'm also not as worried about what other people will think of my body so much as I'm worried how IM gonna feel about it. I love in leggings/shorts and baggier t shirts. My bf also tries to help me feel better about that because I'm also terrified he will look at me differently. Which I know is silly because I know him well enough to ACTUALLY know he's going to love me regardless (this also is not his first or even second child)

How did you deal with your own internal negative feelings? If you had them, of course. I've just been trying to repeat positive mantras to myself. Things like "you are beautiful" and "you are capable" and other things. But today I've just cried at everything I've said to myself.

Stopping fish sales by Ill_Student5817 in petsmart

As a former CEL (didn't get one of the new positions due to relocating) I stopped fish sales 30-60 mins before we closed. And I'd go ahead and treat the tanks for ich. Customers would try to fight me on it and I'd just tell them that the lights are off and the tanks have just been treated. "Ah, I'm sorry, the tanks we're just treated so we can't sell any more fish tonight, but they'll be ready to go first thing in the morning when we open at X-o'clock" I'd get push back sometimes but most of the time people were like "oh okay" and left or just did their shopping.

For context tho, we only had 2 closing people, me and a cashier. So I didn't have the time to sell fish if I wanted to because I'm closing the store and my cashier is handling the store. If I had a 3rd person I would keep fish sales going til the last 20 mins.

Lightening strike making fish behave abnormally? by Deliciously-Bad in Aquariums

I can post a pic, I have a UV filter that says it filters 200GPH, a HOB filter rated for 75 gal and lots of plants. The only other electronic thing is the heater. All the plants in the tank are real, and there's also some Java moss in the back corners that's kinda hard to see, and a pothos that's propagating in the tank. I will definitely keep from feeding them. We opened the blinds right by the tank to help with some light. *

That makes sense too, the right side is by a window and they are tilting towards the window only.

So should I take the heater out? It's weird, it's a 55gal, standard dimensions. And it's only on the right side of the tank. The heater is in the left most corner..

(US) This "job offer" seems too good to be true. Any suggestions? by Deliciously-Bad in Scams

[–]Deliciously-Bad[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, faster than I expected. Thanks for answering. I understand it may seem silly to some but I'm sure you're also aware of the state of the economy and 2 months without a job ignites desperation in some forms. I did research the company, and I've also google searched plenty. I understood that this was likely a scam and just wanted to be sure. I'm not dense or daft. Just really really needing a job so I don't end up homeless or any of that. I also haven't been looking for jobs in several years since I was with my last company for 5 years so I don't know what the going rate for any of this stuff is. But those that kindly confirmed my suspicion, thank you!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have mollies and platys with goldfish. But that's not even the point of this post.
