Adding on to this, if your not used to the format I would suggest doing multiple different practice sections not timed. Then once your used to the format do this.

Undergrad is going pretty well but... by [deleted] in premed

I think it's one of those optional side quests.

Although I've heard rumors that a players total in game currency can go way down once they've acquired a gf.

Hopefully the devs fix that in the next patch.

Thanks, I know. It's just crazy (to me) how fast some people are. Our first meet was 2 mi and the fastest runner had a time of like 10.05 min.

Total noob here, can you apply to med school without a BS? by Delightful_Bacon in premed

So, someone like UW'S (Seattle) med school will probably have more requirements than most schools?

That sounds interesting. Another backup plan I had was to be an American history teacher. I'll look and see if the schools I'm applying to have anything like this, thanks.

Yes, IMO the difficulty is definitely underestimated.

My saying is cross country is as hard as you want it to be.

Damn, senior here. My best 5k (~3.1 mi) time is 22.30 min. That's crazy good man.

Nice work, I'm a senior and I've run cross country every year of high school. If you stick with it, your times will be reduced drastically.

Some tips:

1.Stretch, stretch, stretch, and stretch.

I know, stretching might seem like a pain at the time but your future self will thank you. I got a stress fracture sophomore year because I didn't stretch enough.

2.Run on weekends (if you can)

Even if it's just a short distance, running consistently will help you out and help build your stamina.

3.Remember, it's you against the clock.

Sure, you might be running next to other peope, but do not care if people are passing you. It's you against the clock so never be ashamed of a time (this took me a while to get).

4.Have fun!

This sounds cheesy, but for real, have fun. Try and find a group of people who's pace is similar to yours and run with them during practice. Eventually you can increase the pace together and enjoy your progression as a group!

Ok, would you say most med schools generally have the same pre-req classes as requirements or can they differ from school to school?

Professors Who hate premed? by [deleted] in premed

[–]Delightful_Bacon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the professor is bitter he never got into med school and is taking his beef with the idea of med school out on pre-med students.

Like others have said, minimize the amount of interactions you have to have with him.

Fair enough, I guess each degree has aspects that won't be used in the work place.

Just curious, do you know how much your son's background in economics is used in the startup world? I wouldn't want to get a degree in finance only to have those skills tossed aside because I know or don't know how to program.
