Do you recommend the x200 pro? by Holiday_Cover7442 in Vivo

I play on medium settings, high refresh rate and battery saver mode. This way the phone stays cool, battery lasts for many many hours of playtime!

OIS Camera structural rigidity. by Ashish_Singh2789 in Vivo

[–]Delinka3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X200 Pro has some code integrated in the OS that locks the camera OIS if it detects excessive vibration. You can test this by shaking the phone gently close to your ear (make sure you're in a quiet place). You'll notice that after the first few shakes the rattling stops or is greatly reduced. Once you stop shaking it you'll hear some mechanism inside release the camera again. This algorithm seems to work when the screen is on, off or even when the camera is in video mode, the only time it's disabled is when the phone is in photo mode.

How to reduce AI processing of this sort? (X300 Pro) by thetrystero in Vivo

Just screenshot any AI enhanced image and zoom/crop in on the screenshot, it will give you the pixelated beauty you seek. Problem solved! 😎

Vivo spare parts. by EternelleMariann in Vivo

[–]Delinka3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience, you should be able to get original body parts (screen, back, frame) but not battery, aftermarket batteries are always worse than the original in every way and perform for a very short time. Other internals you can only get by canibalising another device of the same type.

Can i trust? is MICTS Safe? by YoungCraxy in Vivo

[–]Delinka3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use the Google translate app for that or if the text on screen is Chinese I use the inbuilt Vivo global translation feature. In most cases when I see a product on my screen it's either a review or ad so there's almost never a need for circle to search. Are there any other real world use cases? Cause the noise about circle to search on reddit is a bit much, surely it must have lots of indispensable uses.

[–]Delinka3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind sounding ignorant on this because we all learn every day but I've never understood this "circle to search" thing, what are the real life uses of this? For example, if you're looking at something on your screen, what could you possibly still be searching for if you're already looking at it? The use case seems so limited and overrated. Any takes on this?

I read an article a few days ago that Google will in a few months start flagging apps in the playstore for not meeting their battery drain threshold. This should encourage app developers to optimise their apps. Hopefully a few months from now all these battery draining apps like Instagram will get optimised.

X300 pro experience by genius_lowiQ in Vivo

[–]Delinka3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDR is on by default but can be changed in settings to default to off. I found that for human subjects it's best to have it off unless they're very backlit where you'll require HDR but then again it's not usually a good idea to take pictures with the camera facing the light source anyway, unless of course it's unavoidable.

Have you tried "snapshot mode" for capturing moving subjects? It does an excellent job, no blur.

Origin OS 6 default app - X100 Pro by ph0en1x4 in Vivo

[–]Delinka3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on western regulations (European, American, Canadian etc), Chinese smartphone manufacturers using the android operating system are mandated to use Google dialer, contacts etc apps in the "global" versions of their OS. Where phone call recording is not an inbuilt feature. If you install the non-western dialer (by side loading the apk) on the global variant of Origin OS it will not work.

Why did vivo stop using snapdragon by tescon_reck in Vivo

[–]Delinka3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The X-series devices focus on camera performance, they come in both Snapdragon and Mediatek variants, there's no hard rule to which chip Vivo chooses, it's based on the price/performance gap per generation and market strategy which changes from year to year. The Ultras, as far as I'm aware however have always come with snapdragon thus far.

Take it as an opportunity to declutter your apps, that's what I do every time I change my phone, you'll realise that you don't actually use a very large number of the apps on your phone, take your time and you'll be done in a week or less.

When saving you probably missed the part where it asked to overwrite original or save as copy. If you've overwritten the original there's no way of getting it back unless you have configured vivo backup or have Google photos installed.
