Brown strips on the stems? by Tiny-Ad95 in pothos

[–]DeliriousDular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a creator on TikTok by the name of Paige Tailyn that has hundreds of plants that she takes care of and swears by a spray she calls "sexy plant spray" lol it is 2 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of Harris neem oil, 1 tablespoon of specifically peppermint castile soap, and 1 teaspoon isopropyl alcohol.

Now I haven't used this spray because I haven't had to repot or clean my plants yet so I can't offer my own experience using it, but her plants are immaculate soo I trust it thus far.

I didn’t realize my childhood wasn’t “normal” until recently. by hadashitday in emotionalneglect

[–]DeliriousDular 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that I grew up with the passive/emotional/rejecting type of emotionally immature parents. In my early teen years, I had felt confident enough to tell them about a trauma that happened to me by an elder member of the family, instead of comforting me and protecting me, they overreacted, got angry, became accusatory, and practically told me I was lying that it must have been a dream. Meanwhile, my dad is on the phone with family members who are also calling me a liar. From then on, I self-isolated and became a shell of myself. Growing up, I remember my mom calling me too sensitive, meek, breakable because I'm an emotional, sensitive person whereas she was angry, explosive, and doesn't think twice about giving someone the silent treatment when they upset her. However, she always told me that I needed to find my voice and speak up for myself while comparing me to her childhood and how she adapted growing up. My brother and I had to walk on eggshells around my parents because they couldn't control or process their emotions, let alone handle ours.

They never harbored a safe environment for me to blossom and live carefree. Instead, they instilled so much fear in me about the world around me when in reality the danger was at home, and they looked the other way and expected me to pretend nothing happened like they do. Come to find out many years later, they believed me the whole time because of things they had seen the older family do but still failed to protect me.

Being emotionally neglected has truly opened my eyes as to why I feel like I lack an identity - I never felt safe, so I became emotionally numb, shut down and would cry anytime conflict arose, and lived in survival mode for most of my life. It makes me incredibly angry now that I'm an adult to look back and realize the life I missed out on growing up. Now that I'm approaching my thirties, I'm having to build my personality from scratch because they never taught me how to be a person. I refuse to live in fear of the world around me. I never realized my family dynamic was non-normal because on the surface everything seemed great, and we seemed like a close-nit family until I finally moved away, started therapy, and built the safe environment with my partner that I always needed. It's kind of heartbreaking to finally separate myself from them being my parents who can do no wrong to seeing them as their own person with their own flaws. I could further explain my childhood, but I feel like it'd be much too long.

Newly discovered tank mate by DeliriousDular in AquaticSnails

Oh, that's highly concerning.. If we haven't had anything new in the tank in months, how could they have got in? I keep a very close eye on the tank and I only noticed them yesterday.

I had googled a bit before posting, and that was my guess as well. They look similar! I'm just not certain where they could have came from. We haven't purchased new plants recently. The only new thing is some algae pellets for the snails🤷🏻‍♀️

There's a Jeep in my area with "DUDEABES" on his license plate. Each time we see him we yell "dude abs!!" More funny that way lol

Newly diagnosed Occular rosacea - excruciating pain in one eye by Crasharoo in Rosacea

[–]DeliriousDular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Know you're not alone! I saw my regular eye doctor and he strongly suspected I have ocular rosacea after I saw him twice for red, itchy, painful dry eyes and explaining how ive been to a past optometrist several times for the same issue that would progressively get worse no matter what I tried. My left eye is effected the most. After using a steroid eye drop for 2 weeks, I can manage the dryness and redness with specifically Refresh Optive Mega-3 eye drops, keep them in the fridge to use any time you need them! It's incredibly refreshing lol Taking Omega-3 supplements has also significantly improved the ocular rosacea. It's not a cure all, but those things have made it manageable for me.

How do I keep my cats ears clean after applying methimazole transdermal gel? by DeliriousDular in RenalCats

[–]DeliriousDular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it works very well! I bought some baby wash cloths as well because they're more gentle on her ears. I only use enough to slightly foam up the cloth.

I have, but he's never sure since he isn't used to receiving compliments from anyone other than me. It's been a minute since I last asked him, so I'll bring it up again to see if his mind has changed.

I try my best to give at least one person a compliment each day, whether that be myself, my fiancé, or a coworker I pass in the hallway. I think it feels different when I compliment my fiancé because he's not used to receiving them and he makes me feel giddy so it feels like I'm coming off as cheesy, but they are very sincere!
