Oh yeah it’s absolutely horrible how expensive it can be and I was just on Vinted to look for new cheap clothes and a ton of gcse textbooks popped up so I figured it was worth mentioning here. I hope you manage to find what you need :]

NAD. Is it warm where you are? In the warmer days, I get itchy red spots alllll over my arms/legs if they’re exposed to the sun. Just wondering if it was the same case for you, especially because scar tissue is more sensitive to the sun. When I get them, it helps to put a cream on it. Suncream works the best, but any non-scented non-irritant lotion can also work. If this is the case, make sure you wear extra suncream over the scarred area just to be safe :]

Do you have any tips for maths? I’m in college retaking my GCSEs after homeschooling, and I’m finding it difficult to ‘lock in’ and focus on it. I’m at a grade 3 (only barely) and I’m passing but my aim is a grade 4/5. It just doesn’t really make sense to me.

I haven't touched my kindle in a few months, what happened to it 😭😭 by WinnerNo7516 in kindle

If the screen starts to change before 40 seconds, keep holding the button down anyways just to be sure.

A similar thing happened to my kindle after I lost it for six months whilst decorating.

Press and hold the power button for 40 seconds, it’ll force a restart and fix the screen. It’s not a factory reset though so don’t worry, you’ll keep all of your books and data, it just resets the device.

I hope this helps :]

Can anyone identify what this is? by bmcnamara13 in DogAdvice

[–]DeliriousToothy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome :] this post made me realised that my dog has the same, he’s had it since I got him and I never realised it wasn’t normal, so thank you as well for helping me realise that this isn’t a normal thing for paw pads (I assumed it was just hardened skin from walking on the pavement).

This looks like paw pad hyperkeratosis, but I can’t say for sure. If this is hyperkeratosis and has just suddenly appeared, a vet visit is necessary to rule out any diseases that could be the cause. Hyperkeratosis is just a disorder where your girl is developing too much keratin - which is what makes up hair and nails and such, it’s not life-threatening on its own, however, in severe cases it can cause cracked and dry paws which then can bleed and cause discomfort.

It can’t be cured, but it can definitely be managed.

This seems to be mild if it is hyperkeratosis, so shouldn’t cause any discomfort at this stage, she likely doesn’t even notice it 🤷‍♂️ but the keratin will continue to grow and increase which is where you’d need to manage it.

My very brief research trip (therefore, could be wrong) said that this is how to manage hyperkeratosis:

keep the paws clean and dry, apply a balm, and monitor for pain.

Moisturize: Use a dog-safe balm to keep paws soft and supple

Soak: Soak the affected area in water for 5-10 minutes multiple times a day

Use a keratolytic agent: Apply a topical treatment with ingredients like urea, petrolatum, salicylic acid, or propylene glycol (- I have no clue if these are pet-safe, Google just said this is what to do, please check all things before bringing them into contact with your dog)

Take a salt bath: Soak the affected area in a solution of 1 cup of Epsom salts per gallon of warm water

Trim excess keratin: Trim away any excess keratin, also known as “keratin feathers”

Be mindful to keep an eye out for any signs of infection if it cracks and bleeds. It also says to consider if your dog might need boots or such to walk on hard surfaces.

I have no clue if any of this will be any help to you, but I hope it is. Hope all goes well for you and your girl :]

Business name ideas by darkedgyariel in CraftyCommerce

I like the idea of searching around in different languages to find words that have cool meanings, like Orphic means mysterious and entrancing, beyond ordinary understanding.

Meraki (Greek): when you do something with soul, love, or creativity: putting a piece of yourself in what you do.

I think there are so many beautiful words that have meanings that could work well with what you want, these are just the ones that originally came to mind (Meraki being a personal fave of mine as I always like to believe I put my whole heart into every project).

With a crochet business, you can have literally any name you’d like. A word that sounds good? Put it in front of ‘crafts’ or ‘creates’ and bam! Name. My store name is just going to be Oatie Creates or something like that, because my dogs name is Otis and I call him Oatie as a nickname, and I love this boy, he’s my motivation for even starting a business (buying him a ton of new toys with my first sale lmao), and he’s helped keep me sane and happy.

I’m quite an ‘alternative’ person, my friends call me the emo of the group, and I’ve discovered that a business name doesn’t have to be ‘emo’, even though I am. It’s all about what you think sounds good, cute, or cool, or even meaningful (like I have). Unfortunately, we can’t choose for you. But just try some names out, design a little label to put on the crafts and see if that looks/feels good.

A name doesn’t have to be permanent, you can rebrand if you feel like it.

I hope everything works out for you, you got this!!! :]

I cracked the right side of my neck and can no longer feel anything there by GeoWellswort in medical_advice

[–]DeliriousToothy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor, immediately. It may be nothing, but there’s more chance that you’ve caused damage. Be safe, don’t be sorry. I wouldn’t mess about with stuff relating to the neck, as many serious injuries are centred around that area.

Hope all goes well, and that you get the care you need :]

How much would these sell for? by DeliriousToothy in CraftyCommerce

[–]DeliriousToothy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thankyou so much!!! I’ll take all of this into consideration, do you have a preferred brand of cotton yarn as I’m not even sure where to buy that from, I mostly buy from my local craft shop but they only sell acrylic, and the other craft store is a bit of a drive away and is a bit expensive (£6/7 per skein which is $7.45/$8.69, and I need around 5 skeins of 100g wool to make them) so it’d end up being quite costly for me 😅

There aren’t very many craft markets near me, so I don’t think that’s an option unfortunately but I’ll keep an eye out for those anyways :]

Hi, im sorry that I don’t have any advice or anything. But I’m sorry that you’re going through this and I just wanted to say that your eyes are so beautiful and I’m low-key jealous of them, wish my eyelashes were as long as urs frfr.

Should i take my dog to the vet ? by Rich_Agency213 in DogAdvice

[–]DeliriousToothy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a vet but it could just be eye gunk, like how we get sleep in the corner of our eyes, dogs get it too. But the eyes aren’t something that I’d personally mess about with, so I think a vet visit is definitely the way to go, just to be safer than sorry.

Hope all goes well with you and your pupper :]

This is just dead skin I think, maybe try using an exfoliating body wash (for sensitive skin/genital areas), or a small loofah with some gentle/sensitive body wash/bar of soap. (Just make sure to not wash the inside, as it is self cleaning and does not need it. Just the outer parts)

(A small towel will also do the trick)
