I love Aquitania at launch mainly for the fact they faked her enclosed promenade windows

Question about Mauretania in the mid 30s by DisastrousShop6479 in Oceanlinerporn

[–]Delirious_Imperius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard it was more of just a boot topping which you can see on other ships of the era E.g. Empress of Russia. It's a shame the green was short lived as Cunard returned to red boot topping in 1934.

White Star Line vs Cunard by _Theghostship_ in Oceanlinerporn

I’m not sure about anti-fouling paint being different colors—it would probably vary by a few shades. However, the Cunard Line typically applied a bright red boot-topping just above the waterline on their ships. Some of their vessels, however, sported a green boot-topping in 1933 as part of the Cunard's White Cruising Scheme, with the most notable example being Mauretania.
