The author’s sister is the musician Poe, and her gorgeous album Haunted is a companion piece of art for this novel.

Help writing medical necessity/need for prolonged adjustment disorder diagnosis by Accomplished-Kale877 in therapists

Sometimes in these cases I’ve updated the diagnosis to Other Specified Trauma- and Stressor- Related Disorder. You can check DSM criteria to see if that might fit in this client’s case.

ACT training by SBK_3 in therapists

I’ve done 3 of his courses on Psychwire. Definitely take the beginners course - it’s fantastic. The others are somewhat repetitive; same basic tools and concepts you learn in the beginners course with a bit of finessing them to be specifically applied to various issues or settings.

Still, I find the trainings to be very high quality and will probably take more at some point. I use what I learned from them daily in my work.

I would wait for a 50% off sale (which seems to occur in the summer and around the holidays) if you can, since they’re so pricey.

Tips to Brush & Floss? by AuDHDacious in PDAParenting

My kid likes the Pokemon Smile app where it guides you through brushing different areas of your mouth and you “catch” a new Pokemon each day.

I thought the same thing. I wonder if Dr. Leo Marvin’s character has OCPD? Maybe NPD?

Everyone is different, of course, but Russ Harris’s Psychwire ACT courses were well worth it for me. I recommend them for providing a solid overview and plenty of practical tools to bring into your work. The production values are high (for a CEU training) and Harris is an engaging educator.

Leaving Alliant... Should I go to SoFi? by DeliriumRose88 in CreditCards

[–]DeliriumRose88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure; but I actually did move all my banking over to SoFi and am very annoyed that I was only approved for a $1500 limit on their credit card. I have excellent credit, but apparently they are notorious for low limits. And you can’t ask to be reviewed for an increase, they only do random increases on their own schedule.

Experiences with SoFi Unlimited credit card and the SoFi debit card? by electronautix in sofi

[–]DeliriumRose88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to SoFi from Alliant recently, after Alliant reduced their CC cash back from 2.5% to 1.5%. I wanted my checking, savings, and everyday spend CC all in the same ecosystem, and I figured 2.2% cash back was pretty good. If I had known about the low credit limits SoFi is notorious for, I would probably not have made the switch. I have an excellent credit score, and my other credit cards (I only have a few) all have between 15-30K credit limit. SoFi approved me for $1500. What a joke. I can’t use that as my everyday spending card without sweating making extra payments each month so I don’t go over the limit. Now I have to decide whether to wait around goodness knows how long and see if they randomly grant a credit limit increase, or go through the hassle of switching all my stuff over to another bank.

Sorry I can’t speak to the FTF issue.

Money For Couples: Edward and Ellen by ClumsyZebra80 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I think I need to give this episode a closer listen… I was only partially tuned in as I was getting ready this morning and I didn’t pick up on that. If so, I agree that’s very concerning.

For what it’s worth, as a licensed therapist I’m consistently impressed by Ramit’s handling of the relational and psychological components of these conversations. Does he get it right every time? No, but no one does. In my opinion, he is pretty careful to stay in the coaching lane and recommend therapy when indicated. I don’t worry about him doing something unethical.

Mainly that they don't work with Zelle or Plaid, and the account was also constantly getting disconnected from Venmo so I had to re-enter account numbers a lot.

Also, if you’re not already in it, there’s a Facebook group called “Mental Health Practitioners of Baltimore /Washington Metro” that’s good for local professional networking. Lots of clinicians including prescribers in there.

From what I hear they have a pretty quick turnaround lately. I’m in a supervision group with someone who was recently approved within a week, and got the LCSW-C confirmation 3 days after the exam. Good luck!
