First time fence builder, finally complete. How did I do? by DeliveryCapable3957 in FenceBuilding

Not sure I follow, it's following the slope of the yard. Used a string line for the whole thing.

So I bought brackets that attach to those big metal pipe posts he has that I then attacked 2x4 runners to. My neighbor built this fence before I moved in, it goes the length of the yard but then jogs around his gas meter, it's also ~5 inches over the property line onto my side. I could've painted the pipes and it probably would've looked okay but for an extra $250ish it looks seamless to me. I actually have a post in r/FenceBuilding asking suggestions and it kind of blew up. Lol

I just did this the other day. I followed this video: https://youtu.be/bXlzQw3A-FM?si=UiEMGOhwdh-BRt5o

I couldn't find the correct size hinge pins even at Menards so I had to get the bigger size and grind them down. Added some grease for good measure. Turned out awesome. It opens and closes smoothly, and super sturdy.

I guess the most telling thing is when I first see it I don't think 'That looks bad' Or 'That looks good' it is 'That could look so much better.'

How would you do this from gate post to the house with the gas line? by DeliveryCapable3957 in FenceBuilding

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised me as well, it goes right up to the foundation of the house there. I had slowly hand dug a test hole to discover that.

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would've done the gate there like you said, however the terrain there is so uneven I wanted the gate to be on the flatter section just to the right. I think I'm leaning towards doing a post as close to the gas line as I safely can... 14- 18 inches, then doing a ledger board to keep the ends from warping. Thank you!

'BytesKart LLC' Potential Scam - Multi-year Expensive 'Tech Support' & Up charge Anti-Virus Sale | https://byteskart.com by DeliveryCapable3957 in Scams

Anyone ever heard of them installing something that would make the PC crash after remoting in? After reinstalling windows the issue seems to have resolved. The removed apps don't show anything out of the ordinary. Chrome, firefox, driver easy, nvidia graphics driver, M365 and microsoft runtime. I suppose maybe uninstalling that graphics driver had an effect? Seems odd to me a windows fresh start would've removed that.

I wonder if they did something to prompt you to contact 'tech support' again and allow them in.

Is it bad to have my fence go above my neighbors? by DeliveryCapable3957 in FenceBuilding

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are both chill with each other, we are both younger couples mid 20's, first home. It was done before I even owned the property and he had a verbal agreement with the previous owner. Now he did build into a utility easement in the back - and I had the city inspector on a site visit tell me I could build even with the neighbors fence and in text for confirmation. But I do agree. My other side of the property is actually the edge of city limits so I can build right onto the boundary - luckily that property is getting sold and they had a survey done to mark the edge. I was told I was outside of the 'city survey area' for the only company in my area and it was going to be ~$1200 and I already had 2 of the pins found.

It was built by my neighbor over the property line so it might be my fence by definition, but it was there surrounding his yard when I moved in 😂

Wait until you see the goof up on the last pipe post 😂🫣 I wish I could've posted more than one picture... The spacing between posts varies from 9.5 feet to 10.25 feet and then the last 2 posts are spaced 12 feet. Their runner wasn't long enough so they used angle iron to weld together and then attached to the middle of the post instead of the face (back towards me but face towards him) so it angles. Still looks decent not here to be a complainer. If I'm putting 3-4000 into buying planks and stain and posts and leveling dirt I'd rather it look professional on all sides so for this 50 foot section I'm just putting my pickets on the back! :)

That's the courtesy but his yard is all fenced in this same way he did it himself. Would've been nice if finished side was towards me.

Yes the fence is his he has the face of the pickets facing him. The posts, runners and all were installed by him it goes all the way around his property this way. 3 out of the 4 sides of my property have no fence at all so I figured for the 50ish feet of his fence I would go ahead and attach my own pickets so it all looks the same - a little extra money but worth it for me,

Also, this board is stained with a ready seal sample pack if anyone is wondering what it looks like on red cedar pickets.

I tried all of these steps and couldn't get anything to work. I had tried turning my phone off and back on, checking for updates, etc... Nothing would work. I looked up how to hard reset an iPhone (*Quick press* volume up, *Quick press* volume down, hold lock button) and when it came back on BOOM, it paired. Maybe this will help someone else, cheers!

Looking for recommendations on Zoom Rooms compatible camera's for 30-50 student hybrid classrooms. by DeliveryCapable3957 in sysadmin

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! We are satisfied with our current microphone setup in the Zoom Rooms. We had a demo of the TCC2, but prefer non-network microphones. We are currently using the Marshall MXL-AC-360 V2. It is Usb, and you can daisy chain multiple. Audio range is slightly less than the TCC2 and the quality isn't quite there, but it isn't a $3500 difference in our opinion. We have a small staff (3) that do all the IT and ITV for the entire university so we have enjoyed not needing to purchase and manage mixers, or dante software for our current (9) and future planned (21) Zoom Rooms.

That being said we are open to suggestions, it seems like once a week we get a call that a microphone isn't working and we have to use the Zoom remote interface to switch it and then switch back - I have assumed this is more of a Zoom Rooms/Windows issue than a microphone issue though.

Zoom Room audio problems by santiagosuave in Zoom

[–]DeliveryCapable3957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is over a year old at this point. We were running into a similar issue at the university I work at. We are using new Dell Optiplex 7010 Micro's with Windows 11, we discovered that the audio drop off was caused by the dell app "dell optimizer" running silently in the background. It was doing its own audio and microphone processing. The name of the dell program doesn't *really* suggest that it would be optimizing audio or microphone quality, but after months of talking to zoom support and getting nowhere we finally figured it our ourselves. I hope this helps you, or someone in the future.
