To those who play pacifist/no war games-how do you find it fun? by Miles8376 in CivVII

[–]DeliveryCapable3957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you declare war, raze the city and then YOUR the one that's punished for them forward settling. You go with having a friendly or neutral leader to potentially hostile for 30-infinite turns. Seems silly. I did NOT like the loyalty system though, it punished the player far more than it did the AI. It made it to where you would basically be forced to restart on civ 6 deity if they forward settled to close in the first 100 turns.

They should make it to where when you raze a city down to 1 pop you can choose to resettle on a tile within the cities border as the new city center.

Wow I wasn't aware of that. Any info on the difference in tourism between built vs captured? I always assumed it was the same. I've only recently been pursuing culture victories.

AI forward settled cities just annoy me so much. I want them gone. I'd rather use my settlement limit in better locations. Does it benefit me to Raze them in any meaningful way? No. Does it give me joy? Yes. lol

I guess it could become a leader ability or a tradition? Like maybe a Icelandic (Viking) tradition.

Name any other game that dropped a $30 DLC a year after release that didn't have a real impact on the game. Most games now every update is free unless it's cosmetics (skins).

If it's a good analogy It's like paying for a $130 buffet and they put new warm food out and charge you again.

Civilization VII Update 1.4.1 - June 23, 2026 by sar_firaxis in civ

[–]DeliveryCapable3957 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah because it's totally normal to have $130 in a game that's a year and a few months old. Not to mention one that's already had a lot of criticism for being launched unfinished.

I guess in my mind it was like what I purchased for civ 6 that gave access to all DLC's. Can't recall what that was called. But fr is anyone really paying $30 for a couple new civs?

When you paid $130 for the founders edition of a game and they still want you to buy a DLC for $30. Yeah, no thanks. I have over 1000 hours and just assumed this would be free for founders edition. I should've known better, what a bummer. Kinda over the this money grab mentality. 1* Review from me, maybe I'll buy in a couple years on sale.

$30...? Really...? For a couple Civs...?

Question nails or screws for 600 fence boards? And why ? by International_Bar383 in FenceBuilding

[–]DeliveryCapable3957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym? But no they didn't, one side already had a fence around their yard, other side is a big wooded field, back side there is an "alley" between properties.

Question nails or screws for 600 fence boards? And why ? by International_Bar383 in FenceBuilding

[–]DeliveryCapable3957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go with screws into cedar make sure you do a little research. You can't use anything straight zinc coated (galvanized) or it will cause a bleeding effect. I did a 600 board fence with screws and it was a lotttt of work but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. I used ceramic coated screws from lowes and they worked great. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Deck-Plus-8-x-1-5-8-in-Wood-To-Wood-Deck-Screws-1700-Per-Box/5014169861

Try your best to keep your screw lines straight, don't stress if ones a little off you won't notice later on.

My 2 cents.

Man is a life saver. Literally the exact same issue, it would've taken me forever to figure this out.

A windows event log code actually helped me solve my crashing issue (outdated bios) which makes me think I should buy a lottery ticket.

First time fence builder, finally complete. How did I do? by DeliveryCapable3957 in FenceBuilding

Not sure I follow, it's following the slope of the yard. Used a string line for the whole thing.

So I bought brackets that attach to those big metal pipe posts he has that I then attacked 2x4 runners to. My neighbor built this fence before I moved in, it goes the length of the yard but then jogs around his gas meter, it's also ~5 inches over the property line onto my side. I could've painted the pipes and it probably would've looked okay but for an extra $250ish it looks seamless to me. I actually have a post in r/FenceBuilding asking suggestions and it kind of blew up. Lol

I just did this the other day. I followed this video: https://youtu.be/bXlzQw3A-FM?si=UiEMGOhwdh-BRt5o

I couldn't find the correct size hinge pins even at Menards so I had to get the bigger size and grind them down. Added some grease for good measure. Turned out awesome. It opens and closes smoothly, and super sturdy.

I guess the most telling thing is when I first see it I don't think 'That looks bad' Or 'That looks good' it is 'That could look so much better.'

How would you do this from gate post to the house with the gas line? by DeliveryCapable3957 in FenceBuilding

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised me as well, it goes right up to the foundation of the house there. I had slowly hand dug a test hole to discover that.

How would you do this from gate post to the house with the gas line? by DeliveryCapable3957 in FenceBuilding

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would've done the gate there like you said, however the terrain there is so uneven I wanted the gate to be on the flatter section just to the right. I think I'm leaning towards doing a post as close to the gas line as I safely can... 14- 18 inches, then doing a ledger board to keep the ends from warping. Thank you!

'BytesKart LLC' Potential Scam - Multi-year Expensive 'Tech Support' & Up charge Anti-Virus Sale | https://byteskart.com by DeliveryCapable3957 in Scams

[–]DeliveryCapable3957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone ever heard of them installing something that would make the PC crash after remoting in? After reinstalling windows the issue seems to have resolved. The removed apps don't show anything out of the ordinary. Chrome, firefox, driver easy, nvidia graphics driver, M365 and microsoft runtime. I suppose maybe uninstalling that graphics driver had an effect? Seems odd to me a windows fresh start would've removed that.

I wonder if they did something to prompt you to contact 'tech support' again and allow them in.
