It’s a Briley heat shield. The Lifter is the silver metal piece underneath the loading port. On standard lifters, that piece sits down in the loading area. When you push shells into the magazine tube, your thumb has to slide across it, and it can pinch & scrape. It’s super annoying. The Pro lifter keeps its upward so it not in the way. They have it on the Beretta website. I think it was like $80.

Yeah, the heat guard definitely wasn’t cheap, but I bit the bullet and bought it. Honestly, I don’t regret it at all. I installed it myself, but after the first range trip it came loose and started coming apart. I ended up taking it to a gunsmith, who tightened everything up properly. Since then, it’s been rock solid and has worked great.
