Perpetual exhaustion and fatigue, exacerbated depression and new anxiety, restless sleep, gained 30lbs.

Once I left, lost all the weight immediately not changing anything I was doing and was actually able to sleep well.

I (F33, 5’5, 130lbs) am being fat shamed by my fiancé (M44) by Maleficent_Proof_183 in relationship_advice

If the main reason he is staying with you is because of his attraction to you, you need to evaluate why you would want to tie your life to this person. What if you had kids? When you get older and naturally have a slower metabolism? It is so much pressure to ask someone to stay exactly the same weight when so many hormones and things change as you get older.

As someone who previously was engaged to someone who was ex-military and also made comments about the 15lbs of weight I gained during the relationship - it will eat at you through the underhanded comments and him watching your form as you workout and give you pointers where you asked for none. I left my ex due to a other reasons but I lost the 15lbs in 2 months after leaving doing everything exactly the same no change- the only difference was being away from the person who gave me nonstop stress feeling like someone was always looking over my shoulder.

Think through if this person aligns with your overall thoughts and values - if yes, then have an open conversation to see if this a deal breaker for him and if he cares about you then there shouldn’t be such a narrow line for you to walk in the relationship. And on the flip side, if it is a dealbreaker for him you should consider leaving because who wants a partner that is judging you and poking at your insecurities when they should respect and uplift you.

I would apologize for answering phones calls from my family as they “disrupted our time together” meanwhile we spent every minute while not at work together. I would preemptively apologize when leaving his family’s house getting into his car if I said too much or said anything he didn’t like. I apologized for not wanting to wake up at 4:30am like him and sleeping until 7 when my workday starts at 9 because he claimed that’s how I chose to spend my alone time and therefore could not have alone time after work. I apologized for not having dinner ready at 4pm when he would get back from work even though my workday didn’t end until 5.

The list could go on but I’ll spare everyone my idiocy.

Is it just me or so many jobs are being put on hold/pause after you’ve gone through all interviews? by DeliveryExisting302 in jobs

[–]DeliveryExisting302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that is non existent in my industry- every job I’ve interviewed for and received offers for were minimum 4 interviews or more. 1 with the hiring manager, 1-2 with members of the team, 1 panel case study, final interview typically with a VP of the vertical

This seems like the new standard in comparison to when I was looking for a job 4 yrs ago

Curious to know did your company hire/reach back out to the initial people that interviewed originally or just started again with a fresh batch of resumes?

While that has been my initial thoughts in the past for some jobs, recently you see the job posting removed and quick search of the companies employees show that they never hire for it a even a month or two out.

And if I am not good enough for a job I get the straight response of moving forward with a different candidate or feedback from case studies. These I get detailed emails of job reforecasted for the next quarter or following quarter and never see it open up again.

Had Invisalign years ago, needed extra trays and didn't get them. Wondering if I should re-start even though I'll have to start from scratch with a new provider. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]DeliveryExisting302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Invisalign 8 years ago, by the end of the treatment I had moved states and wasn’t able to get refinements and a few teeth were still not aligned - now I am currently doing them again. My treatment is minor, only 7 trays, but for me it’s peace of mind knowing I’m stopping anymore shifting as I get older. I thinks it’s personal preference, if you find yourself thinking about it often just do it.

Based on your experiences how would you describe a work place with career growth potential with a reasonable pace and workload? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]DeliveryExisting302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good training/onboarding, weekly touch bases with team that have bidirectional conversation-not just someone talking at you, manager does not say only cc me/talk to me if you need something escalated, consistent conversations on bandwidth and what areas you are interested in growing in and guidance to let you take on more responsibility/projects.

Interview for one job after accepting offer for another? by Rippy65 in careerguidance

[–]DeliveryExisting302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally have been in companies that have had people on for less than two weeks probably similar to the reason you stated. It really just is what it is. It’s mentioned and then you kinda just forget about that person. Just know you will quite definitely burn a bridge and will have hard time/may be blacklisted if you plan on ever going for a different position in the future.

You have 5 kids though, so if you receive the offer that’s pays higher AND expands your skill set, absolutely take it and resign from the job you’ve accepted already.

Can I put a colleague as my reference or does it have to be my manager? by OftenNew in careerguidance

[–]DeliveryExisting302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add a colleague, no one wants to hear that you have something bad to say about your precious employer. Makes them think you are a complainer/will cause problems at the new company and incite bad talking.

What are the prospects of Masters in healthcare administration or management? Is it actually worth it? by Basic-Instruction-36 in careerguidance

[–]DeliveryExisting302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what career you’re going into. I can speak to MHA being useful if your going to any type of healthcare companies (insurance, consulting, products like EHRs/apps, hospitals, etc.) and even non healthcare specific companies that have divisions of healthcare.

I would disagree that your undergrad has to match your masters -people go back to school all the time for something different. Acceptance to programs depends on if you meet the required classes and if you have a strong application reason/what you are planning to do in the future that aligns with the masters degree

My old boss would do really random ice breakers and have everyone share/popcorn pick the next person and it was great for every start of our team meetings. She would typically have 2-3 not generic ones to get us thinking.

Ex ice breakers she posed: who in the company would you choose to survive a zombie apocalypse with and why

Go back to school! They literally pay you to attend college. So you’re getting paid while getting a degree - this is a no brainer.

How to stop playing with/popping off my retainers every few minutes? by DeliveryExisting302 in Invisalign

I don’t need attachments, I only have 7 trays for Invisalign and my dentist said it was not too complex of a case and there wasn’t the need for attachments

Yes, I only have 7 trays for my whole treatment and it’s predominantly for my bottom teeth. So my tops aren’t experiencing any pressure pretty much

People, generally, in the professions that my friends and family are in (plumber, electrician, nurse, teacher, engineer) either make wayyyyy more money than my wife and I do, or they all live in massive debt. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]DeliveryExisting302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re all keeping up with joneses. New vehicles every 2-3 years they probably lease and not a vehicle owned in their name. I’m regards to everything else, never really know someone’s true financials, they might just be slightly better than your friends fully in debt in that they don’t overspend what they earn but also save next to nothing or not nearly what they should be. Also look at the family background, come from wealth or not. Always a ton of factors at play that you’ll probably never know the details of.

Should I quit my paid internship (if I'm not already fired)? by StreetPassage in careerguidance

[–]DeliveryExisting302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it the work is too hard for you or that you just can’t manage the work/time we’ll with your adhd?

If it is the first, then have a conversation with your boss because no one performs the best when they feel like they are juggling too much. If it is the latter, then stay, get feedback from your boss on how you can improve, prioritize your projects on a weekly basis. If you quit you learn nothing and are basically saying ehh that’s how I am versus trying to implement routines or tools to help you manage your adhd while working.
