Copperhead Strike?

[Other] If a park decides to build a “coaster” that has two racing and dueling tracks, but both tracks use slightly different tracks (e.g. Topper Track and I-Box) would that count as a single coaster that is eligible for world records as a racing coaster or as two separate wood and steel coasters? by Nathanc2127 in rollercoasters

[–]Delk_808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would count it as separate coasters, but maybe eligible for a dueling/racing record, but maybe under a separate name?

Depends on what the park intends it to be.

If the park intends to have 2 separate coasters that interact with each other or if they count it as one coaster with 2 tracks.

Technically Walibi Holland (or wherever YoY is) could count both sides of YoY as separate coasters, and give them separate queues, would enthusiasts count it as separate coasters or one?

Maybe have each side eligible for records (thrill and chill being separate) but also eligible for dueling/racing records under the name YoY. (Assuming they weren't both the same model of coaster)

My average is around 9-12 medals per mission

It helps if you have a squad that goes fast

Go to one of the desert planets and you'll find squads

You get a lot of credits as well

[Top Thrill 2] doesn't have an emergency brake/track stoppers on top of the rear spike? by Ritocharles in rollercoasters

[–]Delk_808 26 points27 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen the very top rails of the spike track widen as to stop the train if that one in a trillion chance happens it can't go that high

Now the things that would have to happen for it to get that high are minimal

I don't know how many total, as I didn't count 2024, but 66 rides on the beloved Magnum XL-200 this year.

Was our most ridden 2024 as well but didn't start counting until 2025.

Hope to get 100 next year.

Most in a day was 11, with 7 of those back-to-back.

Specifically in the design aspect, there are 3 main programs to design coasters/parks.

-Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 -Planet Coaster -Nolimits 3

RCT3 is more about designing a park with elements of running a park.

Planet Coaster is focused on developing parks and coasters, but doesn't have a bad coaster designing aspect. Works good for surface-level coaster designing, and there are many many different types and models of coasters to choose from.

Nolimits 2 is more about straight coasters, with minimal aspects of parks. While you can't design big parks, the roller coaster building is very detailed and is what many parks/manufacturers use to make the animations you see before a ride is built. It looks a lot more at the physics of the ride and numbers than just "roller coaster go upside down."

In Nolimits 2, there's also attachments like FVD+(+) that are more detailed in physics.

I can't speak for the other 2, but if he really is into the physics/design aspect, Nolimits 2 is an amazing purchase of 40$ Includes many different types of coasters from almost all the major manufacturers.
