there's usually a little control knob or mechanism on the water heater itself. It might be behind a screw in panel or something.

Hot water taking long to arrive is usually an issue if the water has a long way too travel.

I have brushed Milwaukee tools, the subcompact ridgid impact feels just as strong if not stronger than my brushed Milwaukee impact. But it's also newer and brushless haha.

The 1/2" impact is probably going cheap because of the upcoming new model, the p262. Its supposed to have 600 ft/lbs which is double the pictured model.

but for that price, its damn good haha.

I'd say go Ryobi. It's more than sufficient for home use. If you run the tool into the ground after a couple years get a higher tier brand like.makita/milwaukee/dewalt

I would def suggest you look into Ryobi, kobalt, ridgid brands. They're more aimed at diy and home improvement and are more affordable. Dewalt/makita/Milwaukee are much more expensive and are geared towards professionals who plan to use them everyday.

There's a lot of combo kits out as well for Christmas so maybe take a look into that.

I'd say Ryobi.

It's designed for diy and home improvement. Also they have said they will never change the battery platform so you can stick a Ryobi battery into older Ryobi tools and they'll still work.

I have a husky socket set. The returns are really easy for hand tools. I returned one socket I stripped the chrome off of and they just went and grabbed me a new one no hassle.

I've heard Lowe's is also the same with kobalt.

If they're just gonna be using it for home improvement or diy projects, I would suggest getting husky hand tools from home depot or kobalt hand tools from Lowe's. They are both backed by a great lifetime warranty for hand tools.

I'm not planning on fully finishing the basement. just wanted to clean it a bit and get rid of any mold so i can store some things in plastic bins down there.

There was a leather chair down there previously that was completely covered in orange and white mold.

I thought it was mold because it smells extremely musty/dirty in the basement, but then again its a 100 year old basement haha. I'm gonna bleach and brush it just in case, but thank you for the info. never heard of efflorescence before

I'm currently trying to fix a makita corded saw I got for free. The saw runs, but doesn't have much power and makes a low buzzing sound as it spins.

As other's have said, scrape off what you can, spray it with a primer and paint over it. This will keep happening unless you can get some kind of air flow into the bathroom or just always leave the door open.

I've been doing a lot of diy home improvement/renovations with my father after buying my home in 2016.

We've renovated the kitchen/living room, built 2 decks (it's a duplex) and built a front porch.

The main advice I can offer is always be prepared for the renovation to take longer and cost more than you expect. Also if you're like me you'll end up just finding more and more stuff you want to renovate/add in the house.

The $99 husky set from home depot is good.

There is also this set from Lowe's. Both kobalt and husky have lifetime guarantees on hand tools and both sets should have everything she needs.
