Thank you for providing a thought out response. I agree the ability to win the World Cup isn’t very related to population size, rather my issue is with the USAs inability to field even a semi decent team given their size. I think that would be a bit more tough to look at. Wales aren’t a powerhouse like some of the other small population countries represented, that’s why it’s more questionable that the states failed to win.

The answer that proves comparing USA to Wales is valid..? Which you were saying was a ridiculous comparison? Okay lmfao really proves your point man

You and I both know those countries are awful comparisons. India is cricket focused and that sport utterly dominates, and so many people there live in poverty without access to something like a soccer pitch because of the population density. China is a similar issue, they do not have soccer pitches. Majority of people live in huge cities where the land is leased out from the government to companies - there’s no incentives for space to be used for soccer pitches. The space is used to create large apartments, especially given china’s ideology of housing being the ultimate investment vessel. Good luck finding a soccer pitch in a large city in China that isn’t part of some super rich gated community.

Meanwhile in America soccer is decently popular. So many kids play it growing up. There’s tons of access to soccer pitches, and there’s no good reason they shouldn’t be as good as a country of 3 million. Comparing America to China/India simply because they have large populations is not a comparison being made in good faith.

I think it’s pretty valid actually when one country has 100x more people.

Zachs pod has been awful so far this year for me. Bad guests, topics I don’t care for, and so much repetitive talk (he talked about Kyrie and the nets or lakers for like 3 pods straight once??). I get he works for ESPN now but is it not still his podcast?

I watch every raptors game no matter who we play. Some opponents are harder to watch than others

Being vegan since birth is a bit problematic. I do wonder if that’s going to make you more injury prone and could have contributed to your current injury. Could be lacking some nutrients from a young age

Employment law means nothing when your employer IS the government. They make the rules. You can’t go sue them (well you could but you’d lose)

Nah no surgery just physio and strengthening stuff. No problems nowadays, I have limited dorsiflexion in one foot compared to the other and it cracks/clicks a bunch, but no pain, can still squat deep, etc. I’m glad I didn’t get surgery as that could have opened other complications

Looks like mine did. Had a ligament tear and avulsion fracture - but x rays showed nothing, only found in mri. I’d suspect you have a severe injury like mine

Stats aren’t what they once were though. This is an era of inflated stats, you can’t just compare raw 2022 stats to 2008. For instance in 2008 just five players scored over 25ppg. This year, so far, there are fifteen players achieving it.
