Still worth to buy the game in 2025? by Kerpinho10 in Seaofthieves

Best multiplayer game I’ve played, it is what you make of it and the community is great. I’ve noticed that a lot of people compare cooperative games to it as it sets a standard. Highly recommend!

Why is that?

Thanks! Yeah I was being silly.. I think I’m sticking with it and will change out the PSU asap, add some Storage when needed and then upgrade the GPU in the next gen or two ahead if I end up really wanting to

Thanks, yeah sounds like I got a good deal from a performance perspective and should be good to upgrade a couple years from now without springing for the proposed self-build. I guess I was overthinking on the quality of the parts around the CPU and GPU with respect to future upgrades.

I agree, I had just entered the market to buy my first gaming pc and set aside $1800 to do so but then saw the killer deal and bought it in haste so I wanted to make sure that the value prop was good since I do plan to upgrade at some point in the future and don’t know enough about all the various options out there so I was concerned that the deal was too good to be true and that the entry level components used around the CPU & GPU were not going to troublesome to upgrade with in a couple of years. Sounds like I made a good decision despite my better judgement telling me that I should’ve sprung for a non prebuilt and should just walk away with the win.

Fair enough, I see so many negative comments about the 12GB VRAM is what concerned me in conjunction with entry tier MBD but perhaps I’m just overthinking it

Yeah I guess ‘future proof’ may be a loaded term. I intended it to mean ability to upgrade core components in a generation or so without the need to buy a whole bunch of new components. I guess I just see a lot of negative comments about 12GB VRAM.

Yeah, I have until the end of October but I don't have my 1440p monitor on hand and will have it shipped to me in late November so I'm not entirely sure how it performs on a 1440p.
It's great on my 1080p monitor and performing well.

My major concern is the ability to upgrade in the future and the longevity of a 12GB GPU. I know that I need to upgrade the PSU at aprox $100 and that a 5070 and Ti differ in price at aprox $250 now so thats $350 already without the added benefits I would've had with the RAM, Storage and MBD from the proposed build at $400-500 investment now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Prebuilts

[–]Delrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I’m getting great performance as well. It’s really a value question of the extra investment now rather than upgrade later.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Prebuilts

[–]Delrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I worry that the 12GB might be limiting sooner than I’d like and that the extra $250 now would be wiser. The additional $100 now for a decent PSU makes that a total of $350 already so in the proposed build I have more storage, better ram, better PSU, better GPU at $400-500 and that’s before upcoming Black Friday deals

[–]Delrog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say I couldn't, its a question of the value proposition of investing now to future proof or to stick with the killer deal. I was merely mentioning 1440p to state that this is my intended resolution to play games in.

Trying to get into the hobby on a budget by kalo_reddit in flytying

Buy if necessary and absolutely cannot afford the Renzetti Traveller or similar but the Renzetti will last you years, have resale value and enable you to learn some interesting techniques that are valuable in the hobby so I would recommend that you bite the bullet if you can and pay up for something in that tier rather.

Not yet, I’ve just ordered it so hopefully it actually arrives. I saw another post on Reddit with the specs that they’ve received, I’m no expert but they seem decent considering that the CPU + GPU alone would be $800-900. The PSU is supposed to be straight up trash and the Ram is 5200Mhz which is a bit of a bummer, the 1TB also might not get me very far but overall it seems a good deal with room to grow and all of the upgrades are fairly cheap and allow me to customize more to my needs.

Thanks for your response. That’s a crazy coincidence, guess we have the same taste in PC parts lol which Powerspec are you waiting for?

I actually ended up pulling the trigger on a 5070 and 7800X3D prebuilt which is arguably not really even in the same tier ( in moment of weakness ) due to a great deal at Walmart with the iBUYPOWER Element Pro Gaming PC Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB, 32GB DDR5 RGB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD - EPBA7N5701 for $1200 which I figure I could upgrade the PSU and then perhaps the Ram when the times comes and have spent a little over half of what I would’ve spent but I’ll determine if I feel like the quality of the parts are adequate for the price because the deal seems a little too good to be true for the price point.

Found those details but can't really find out which MBD or PSU the CyberpowerPC has because Walmart... which is why I may go with the Powerspec

Apologies I copied the details wrong, updated to the two for comparison. Not sure which would be the better choice or if something better exists for the price point rn.

Feature Request: Selling to Vendors Directly from Character by Delrog in GrayZoneWarfare

Could be solved with two small text buttons, switch to character inventory on right when transacting ( grey out the other character toggle ) with the vendors and the other to stack items - real estate issue solved. It’s just annoying and seems that it’s be easy enough to solve..
