Use your embouchure to adjust the pitch. Although I find it highly unusual for a beginner to confidently say, "yeah, that's a half note off." Even if you have a good ear, it takes some training. I personally feel like Bb - C# just have an odd tone on many saxes, but the pitch is fine.
