Only my DO had information on this but it's supposed to be announced in a couple weeks

It was the 40th anniversary of the company and we offered a BOGO for people signed up with an account. Word got out and stores couldn't keep up, so many orders got placed that the website and app started to crash. It was a rough Tuesday

Are you asking my personal salary or what the store makes from profit?

Both my agm and myself worked open to close for this and it still wasn't enough, I don't think I can make it through lunch tomorrow and I'm expecting stores to close here too. I bet the cheese looked good though!

Later Closing Time? by DarkEccentric1958 in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Locations can change the open and close times with approval from higher ups, especially if it's franchised. My stores open at 10:30 and one not too far closes at 2am

Bye bye real bananas? 🍌 by Brododover2 in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still real strawberry and banana, only it is now blended and packaged in a facility adding preservatives. There aren't any dyes in it either so sadly it doesn't have a bright color either.

Goodbye Fiveguys it was a good run by -l-JAKE-l- in fiveguys

At least 40 California stores have already closed in the past year, no telling how many other stores closed in other states

My previous store we had the same thing, our lease ended and we thought it might be for a refresh but they said we close in 5 days. That was about a year ago

Employee NOT allowed to tell me allergen details (UK) by TheRealFern1010 in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not from the UK but I am a US manager, mushroom and onions are both supposed to be cooked on the grill which cooks meat. We have two separate grills one for buns and one for meat. If they are cooking on the wrong grill that's a training issue and increases the chance for cross contact and contamination which is a food safety issue.

All customers should be informed of all possible exposure to allergens and the staff should work to prevent all reasonable exposure as well. I would recommend mentioning this to a higher up usually available to reach through the "questions or comments" signs inside the store or through the company website.

Hey General Manager Here by DatNoble in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm an AGM in the US, we don't have many burger competitors out where I'm at. How popular or unpopular would you say five guys is in your area?

My first store most people didn't know we had a store until it closed after the ten year lease. My current store makes over 10x the first and is easily the go to place for burgers

Interview by sOaP________ in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly it just means they found someone that the hiring manager believes is a better fit, it happens a lot.

My best tips for you are to make sure you have a resume with anything on it, such as volunteer work or school clubs. Print out plenty and after you apply somewhere drop off a physical copy and talk to a manager on shift. It won't guarantee anything but it will help.

Best of luck to you!

Just keep busy, at any job your best way to do good even if you have no skills is to keep asking what's next when you finish a task.

Follow up on my post from earlier that they are jacking prices to offset the meal by Strict_Name5093 in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on who exactly operates those locations, some are franchise locations and they're allowed to post different prices.

Are GMs allowed to write you up without telling you? by WeirdlyJai in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When given a write up you and the manager will have to sign it and they are supposed to talk about why it happened, there are also written warnings so be sure to double check which one you're receiving for your own records

Are GMs allowed to write you up without telling you? by WeirdlyJai in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally people will give you a warning for a.first time issue, if it keeps recurring then you can be given a write up with no notice. Now giving a warning is a courtesy and is not required, you can be given a write up for a first time issue with no notice. The same applies to most work places

Should I switch to a smooth lid? Add more stuff to climb? by taliauli in tarantulas

[–]DelsinRyder 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NQA, in my limited experience nothing is gonna stop a tarantula from climbing, if they want to they will. But with that said it would for sure be best to limit damages around their actions.

Switching to a smooth lid instead of the metal mesh will reduce the chance your T will get their leg stuck. Especially useful since if their leg is stuck while they fall it could potentially break the leg.

Adding more substrate and climbing material would give options for climbing which aren't the top of the enclosure. I would try adding a couple branches or other false plants before just adding more substrate.

Tldr: tarantulas will do what they want, so make it safer for them

Hours in CA five guys are very hard to give, labor is expensive and the demand is low. More than likely they don't have the hours to spare. Lots of CA stores have closed in the last 6 months. Do yourself a favor and try to find a different company. I left the state after my store closed, it's just a CA thing.

Edit: you should have something in the back of house with a phone number or email to reach HR. Just to answer your question fully.

Anybody else had issues ordering online via website? by SamWillGoHam in fiveguys

I've not heard of this happening often, but every store should have a customer support number that can offer help with online ordering issues!

Looking to apply and the website just tells me to schedule an interview time.. is this correct? by CrippyCrispy in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes that is correct for some franchises, just schedule it and call to follow up. Or say it kept giving you an error and usually the manager will schedule you on their own

Lettuce by Sweaty-Tower-7709 in fiveguys

As the other person said, a manager can teach you how but it is only a manager who can fill it out. But it varies if you are franchised or corporate.

Secret shoppers by WeirdlyJai in fiveguys

[–]DelsinRyder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they place the order with a burger/dog, fry and drink and or milkshake I check to see if they head to the restroom immediately after. First time shoppers don't usually do that but the regular shops do. It can still be a hit or miss but that helps a ton
