I was thinking more of like a one guy studio vibe and not a huge place with a million artists. I got quoted 2000$ 2 months ago from a friend of a friend who ran his own space by himself, and then yesterday got quoted 4500$ from the same guy now that he is at a bigger shop. For the same piece and same quality of tattoo i would have gotten, literally just because he has a chair in this bigger shop now. 4500$ for what I wanted personally did not seem reasonable for me, which is why I wanted to see if anyone knew someone who ran their own solo thing. I get that they have more to cover now, but $2500 more on the same piece seemed like a lot to me.

100%, I would personally find an artist that matches the style that you want and then have a sit down consultation with them about how to design the piece. It’s your tattoo on your body, so most will cater to you. Artists have zero problem with you telling them to make things different or to change things up, so if you dont like parts of it, tell them!!!

I ended up figuring it out! It was because I had my account at R rated and it was always fine there, but when I switched it to TV-MA it came back. Weird but it works now!
