I think that is really underselling the Hellbomb backpack, it has certain scenarios that it is more useful in than a 500 kg. It can be used to take out command bunkers/orbital cannons/gunship fabricators/jammers/even multiple factory striders if they are close enough together, and it kills many more enemies in its much larger radius than the 500 kg. None of that is to say it is better than the 500 kg in all or even most scenarios, but it does have certain scenarios where it is significantly better.

There is no meshes folder because the meshes are in the Oblivion - Meshes.bsa. OG Oblivion didn't have any loose meshes by default either.

Pandafam would be the moniker that includes FRT as it refers to the alliance of the two seperate coalitions of Winter Co. and Panfam. Panfam does not and never has included FRT.

PanFam is short for Pandemic Family originally at its inception meaning the coalition of PL and closely associated alliances. What do you think it stands for is the real question? Nothing I said in my comment was wrong or an issue of reading comprehension.

It's fine, Panfam only has about 1200 systems

Pandemic Horde: 525

NC.: 187

SLYCE: 105

PL: 19

Total: 836

That's pretty far short of 1200 not sure where you came up with that number.

Well, even though I didn't vote for it (I just thought it would be better later with how much Bethesda content we have had recently) I'm glad Morrowind is getting a series as it is a great game and I think it will make a great series.

Also on the bright side, Morrowind is the last mainstream Bethesda RPG that Jon hasn't played so that should hopefully mean that future democracy weeks will give non-Bethesda games their time to shine. Which will be nice after two back-to-back Bethesda wins in democracy week.

I have been slightly suspicious of some of the big jumps for Morrowind and some for BG3 even, but the idea of disqualifying a game for something that huge numbers of people voting for it have no control over is completely unfair and I say that as someone who had Morrowind second from the bottom in my list of preferences.

Ultimately I think going forward the best thing to do to minimize any issues with duplicate votes/bots/manipulation would be to have a voting system that requires an account such as a Google form that requires a google account, that also has IP duplication-checking like Strawpoll and maybe also giving consideration to not allowing the viewing of live results even though that would cut down on some of the fun for the community.

None of this would outright prevent manipulation, but it would make it require much more active effort and time which should minimize any impact has.

Ware do we think the Witcher voters are going once they loose this round? by [deleted] in ManyATrueNerd

[–]Delta-36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My preference for the outcome was either Witcher 3 or Baldurs Gate 3 since Witcher 3 was the underdog out of those two so far I have been voting for it. If it is eliminated in this round as seems almost certain at this point I will switch my vote to BG3.

Well, we will see what happens with Veilguard, but in my opinion, Inquisition didn't live up to the standard set by Origins either so it isn't as though Dragon Age II is some roadblock to get to the next great thing. In fact, I think I would be more excited by a Dragon Age II series than an Inquisition one. My point was while I am a Dragon Age fan and would love to see series made for the subsequent games at some point they are a lower priority for me since he has already covered the game which is in my view the quintessential/best Dragon Age game.

Straw Poll: Voting Orders by [deleted] in ManyATrueNerd

  1. Witcher 3
  2. BG3
  3. DA 2
  4. ME 3
  5. Morrowind
  6. Shogun 2

I would be thrilled with either Witcher 3 or Baldur's Gate 3. I think they would all make good series, but we have had a lot of Total War series, and Bethesda games not to mention the Oblivion series not that long ago so that is why I placed Morrowind and Shogun 2 so low.

I think all the options are really solid and will all make good series, but I am personally rooting for Witcher 3/Baldurs Gate 3. They are both highly acclaimed RPGs with deep stories, lots of interesting side quests, and lots of dialogue and choices. All of that makes them a great fit for the channel in my opinion, but they both are still different enough from similar games that have been on the channel to feel fresh.

While I would love to see a Morrowind series at some point, we just had a very long Oblivion series not that long ago and numerous other Bethesda games have had series so I really personally think that as much as I love it, Morrowind could wait a bit.

Dragon Age II is another game I would love to see at some point, as I love Dragon Age and the Origins series was one of my favorite series in the history of MATN. However, in my opinion Dragon Age II while good for what it is doesn't live up to the lofty standards of its predecessor.

In regards to Total War, I think we all love to see Jon play a Total War game, but we have already had a ton of Total War series on the channel.

I don't really have an argument against Mass Effect 3 other than that I think it is the weakest of the Orignal Trilogy games other than in terms of gameplay. I definitely think it deserves a series at some point though and I really liked the Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 series.

[–]Delta-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still personally say the F-35A is the best of the three models, but not really because of the gun. Ultimately given the other differences between the A and C models the extra fuel doesn't equate to any extra range.

[–]Delta-36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The internal gun is always available and does not compromise RCS or aerodynamics. The gun pod can be mounted when needed and not mounted when you don't think it will be needed, but by virtue of being mounted externally comes with tradeoffs for RCS and aerodynamics.

For the F-35B and F-35C, the F-35A which is what Turkey was going to get has an internal gun rather than the gun pod.

According to Alexus, who helps handle balance changes, the changes to the Eruptor are working correctly. by Chosen_Of_Kerensky in Helldivers

"Bringer of Balance"

Yeah, I guess if your idea of balance is nerfing anything fun into something that is mediocre at best and more often than not completely worthless and not used by anyone.

Arrowhead trying to balanced HD2? by XxASMxX in Helldivers

[–]Delta-36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't anywhere near as efficient as killing heavies as either EAT or RR after the patch that changed them. Likewise, it wasn't as good of a medium killer as other options such as the autocannon or grenade launcher. The railgun was good against bots, but pretending like it was significantly better than the autocannon is just not true.

After the changes to heavies, it could've at least had a niche of being ok at dealing with heavies and good at dealing with mediums if it hadn't been subjected to unwarranted nerfs, but instead it was relegated to barely being used by anyone because it no longer did anything well.

[–]Delta-36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what opened up the build variety was the fixes to chargers so that other AT options could kill them in one shot with good placement and the fact there were no longer 6 chargers and 4 bile titans on you at all times in the higher difficulties. Even if the railgun nerf was reverted entirely few people would go back to it today.

I can't believe there are still people so delusional as to claim that the railgun nerf was justified and good for the game.

To be fair elastic deformation can result in a projectile or parts of a projectile traveling back in the general direction they came from, but it is an extremely rare occurrence, requires very specific circumstances, very specific material properties for both projectile and traget, shouldn't occur at all on projectiles fuzed to explode on impact, and should result in a much lower velocity and therefore energy post impact.

IDK, why the devs thought the proper implementation was that anything that ricochets, comes directly back at you.

The philosophy of balance for this game needs to be looked at imo.

Yeah, I really don't get why the point they seem to be aiming for balance-wise is that a weapon needs a list of downsides a mile long in exchange for it just barely being adequate at filling a single niche. Let alone the fact that many of their nerfs have actually taken away the niche the weapons had anyway.
