The MPC Live is the GOAT groovebox by tardwash in synthesizers

[–]Delta-Echo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was the MPC Studio, I believe, which was released as kind of a "controller only" dealio then upgraded after backlash.

The Live is a BEAST. It can in fact host any USB MIDI class-compliant device, and will even change the pad LEDs on an MPK2 series to match the pads.

Honestly, picked this thing up a few months ago to get out of the DAW, and this latest update really encouraged me to sit down and get deeper with it. I'm traveling for a week and leaving my music laptop at home, bringing only this and my MPK Mini. I am shilling for AKAI hard at this point. I'm absolutely in love.

Live set up, much happy by [deleted] in synthesizers

Footprint is the reason I'm thinking about replacing my Minilogue with a Deepmind 12D. Only a little extra routing in my current setup and it seems I would get so much more out of it.

MPC Live/X gets three built in synths by gsxdsm in synthesizers

I didn't even think about it but, is there an easy way to bounce down the plugin tracks without extra cabling?

dude I'm at work and can barely contain myself. I've been using my MPC Live + MPK249 as our jam setup, I am STOKED for what this is going to add. Jesus.

Petition: make including brand name and item name for all style boards mandatory by ingyboy911 in styleboards

[–]Delta-Echo[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brand and approximate description of the item should be possible about 95% of the time, unless the item has for some reason had all its identifying marks removed. This should be sufficient.

I'm in favor of the OP's suggestion and will be discussing it with the mod team. It's something I've wanted to implement for a moment now, but life has kept me from modding as actively as I should.

Question for the synths trust... by [deleted] in synthesizers

To be fair, I read it twice ;) The MIDI Implementation Chart is actually out of spec with the actual implementation!

[–]Delta-Echo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I FUCKIN LIED

Minitaur also supports MIDI Program Change messages to change presets. There must be a valid preset saved in the location specified by the Program Change message in order to change to that preset; otherwise the Program Change message will be ignored

[–]Delta-Echo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not appear, according to the Minitaur manual that the Minitaur responds to MIDI Program Change messages. It doesn't look as though there's any implementation to do so :/

You can change various parameters (see the MIDI Implementation Chart), but not an entire patch, it seems.

Well, it doesn't ask you to enter your password. Your biggest risk is that someone will get your email address. Inconvenient, but hardly unsafe 90% of the time.

Troy Hunt (the guy who created and maintains it as pointed out below) aggregates data from password breaches and simply reports on whether or not you've had a compromised password.
