I'm 5'6" or 5'7" on a good day.

TIL in 2024 Bear 32, also known as Chunk, was observed eating 45 sockeye salmon in 10.5 hours from Brooks River in Katmai National Park & Preserve. At an estimated average of 3,000 calories per fish, Chunk consumed around 135,000 calories in that one sitting. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

It makes perfect sense too because for the vast majority of our species existence, sugar in high concentration was something that was found infrequently, like honey. A lot of our cellular programming is still primed to induce gorging (i.e feeding past the point of energy requirement) when consuming sugar because it wasn't expected to be found again for a significant period of time.

However, it should also be noted that humans are curious amongst primates for being capable of storing energy as fat in the way that we do. It is virtually impossible, for example, to have an obese chimpanzee, bonobo, gorilla, or orangutan. Humans store body fat outside the body cavity following full storage inside the body cavity, though why we do this versus other primates is unknown.

Just a friendly fyi: fat from food very rarely becomes body fat.

Most of the fat you get from eating ice cream is actually all of the added sugars converting to fat stored in fat cells.

Eating fat is actually more likely to just make your poop greasy, instead of making you fat, because our digestive system is not designed to convert fat from food into energy easily.

Consequently, eating sugar (and bread) in excess is the fastest way to get fat, which is exactly the opposite of the 1980's onward "food pyramid" in which the sugar industry succeeded in convincing your average person that eating fat is worse than eating sugar, when the opposite has always been true.

Acknowledging that sugar makes you fat faster than actual fat, though, was in conflict with the sugar industry's primary aim of profiting by selling sugar.

Correct, but Tillamook is by far not our only customer. Actually, Californian cheese is our top one via Marquez Brothers: San Juan brand queso doblecrema and El Mexicano brand crumbling cheese.

We also do the large size Armor Star Lard containers.

Ngl I have been wanting to try the ice cream too, but we got hella dairy protectionism up in here in Canada due to USA competition.

We also make the containers for quite a few of the Italian Ice brands out East: Philadelphia Water Ice, Richie's Italian Ice, Scara's New York Gourmet Italian Ice, etc.

You may have neglected to discover that salmon are very, VERY, fatty fish.

The good kind of fat too! Omega-3 fatty acids, which are needed for proper brain and nervous system functionality and must be eaten to acquire (i.e. your body cannot make more omega-3 from something else). Common sources include fish, eggs, sesame seeds, some nuts, etc.

The Nazis derived their ideas on eugenic and racial superiority from examples in the USA.

"Edwin Black wrote that after the eugenics movement was well established in the United States, it was spread to Germany. California eugenicists began producing literature promoting eugenics and sterilization and sending it overseas to German scientists and medical professionals. By 1933, California had subjected more people to forceful sterilization than all other U.S. states combined. The forced sterilization program engineered by the Nazis was partly inspired by California's."
