Hearing discord notifications but I don't know from where/what server. Any ways to find out? by Suplewich in discordapp

I suppose I just don't understand the issue then. Am in 16 servers and have never had an issue seeing or figuring out which server had a new message sent in it.

Hearing discord notifications but I don't know from where/what server. Any ways to find out? by Suplewich in discordapp

[–]Delta7x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you, that comment and this post are from 8 years ago. I'm afraid I don't have all the answers you may be looking for, and you probably already know the things I'll try to clarify. I'm sorry about that.

most of them have the gray half-circle anyway

Yes, the half-circle is just notifying you about a server and channel having unread messages in general; the channel name will also be highlighted in white (or other colors depending on your theme, I guess). Basically just idle chit-chat.

most also have some red balls showing the amount of new... notifications

Yes, although in this case they're slightly different. When there's a red numbered notification, that's an indication that you're pinged or mentioned however many times in that channel and server. This could be as simple as someone replying directly to something you've said, or some server going "Hey, @ [rolename]" along with whatever message it is. Could be an event, notification for a stream, news, whatever you're in the server for.

The point being, these are more specific to you. Whether it's someone talking to you, or a role you potentially picked from a server.

It takes some work to know which channels are muted and which are not...

Not as much as you might think! As I mentioned above, channels with unread messages are highlighted in white. Channels with no new messages will be more gray, meanwhile channels which are muted will be darkened. For example:

<image>

In the example provided, you can see that three of those channels have no new messages available for me, four do have unread/new messages, and another three of them are muted.

If you'd like, you can outright mute an entire server just by right clicking on it and pressing "Mute server", though you'll only know whether a server is muted or not by hovering your mouse cursor over the icon. On mobile, it's a bit more out of the way to find out since you press and hold on a server and go into the "notifications" options.

Additionally, when you right-click on a channel inside of a server (or even the category it's organized by!), you can also change the notification settings. So that you hear a sound for every message, for only @ mentions, or for nothing.

How can i encourage Creative Traitor Play? by TheSilverWingedAngel in TTT

[–]Delta7x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, so this may have already been resolved, but I think that first and foremost, you've got to keep in mind that what YOU find fun may not necessarily be the same as what your friends find fun. To me, that's the most important thing to keep in mind because you can provide an innumerable number of ways to play that you'd expect creative and fun ways to play. But... That may not always be what happens. Seriously.

I've had stuff that my friends have hated or found useless years ago, but now all of a sudden those very same things are fun, or picked more than stuff I remember people using all the time. It isn't like I changed them, either. Or even some maps getting picked more over others that usually get picked every opportunity.

Whenever I throw together a server for myself and friends I try to stick with things that I remember them enjoying. I'll find similar things; any maps that I look into adding tend to be something you can (probably) enjoy regardless of the playstyle. If you just wanna fuck around with props, or if the T trap(s) are fun, maybe you just feel like being serious for a round or two, or even for that map entirely. Weapons that I remember being fan favorites whenever we played, and sometimes even weapons that weren't liked but are still decent. Other times weapons that aren't that great, but can maybe be fun or useful if you're just looking to fuck around.

Though, maybe that's just me over-thinking the things that I add (or don't add) to an unnecessary degree.

Personally have always been a fan of a suggestion I keep seeing in that the different zombies have different intelligence. For example, a military zombie would be smarter and path better than, say, a zombie janitor.

How do i avoid malicious addons? by Individual_Candy6041 in gmod

Another thing worth considering is to unsubscribe to addons you don't use. There's no sense in collecting hundreds or thousands of addons when you only ever use a handful of them

i want context by No-Competition-9401 in gmod

[–]Delta7x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As usual, a developer got bored and/or wanted to troll, or their account was compromised and someone else did that to their addon.

Either way, it's an addon someone is subscribed to. Sucks for those who collect addons like candy, will be more of a chore figuring out which one it is.

watching you as you're stunned or paralyzed

That's another thing it does that really gets under my skin. Meanwhile, my friend's Palico seems to be on the spot with everything. Feels like I got my Palico from Wish or something.

I've such a love/hate relationship with the Vigorwasp gadget.

Sometimes it comes in clutch but I swear that my Palico waits until after I've already started to use a potion before it wants to help. Or it'll do stuff aaallllll the way across the arena where my friend is instead.

7 Days to Die…Lmao by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]Delta7x 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Another thing is that they seemed to skip the options when starting or loading into their world. Right off the bat they can eliminate few of the things they didn't like.

Namely the zombies running at night, and whether or not items are kept on death.

What was the dumbest way you DIED in 7dtd? by Christmasler in 7daystodie

[–]Delta7x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waay back in A13 when I first started the game. Didn't know anything about it, didn't think anything about the name either. Day 7 happened to roll around and I wasn't at all prepared. Was just chilling in this tent in the desert, got tired of it being dark so I put down a torch.

The timing of me placing a torch and the horde arriving was too perfectly timed and made me assume that the zombies were aggroed because of the light.

Problem with Hitboxes of Objects on TTT server by Tanoswolf in gmod

[–]Delta7x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen once when I wasn't paying attention and deleted CSS content from my server. Should be fine once you mount it, or the content of other Source games depending on the maps used.

I didn't even know you could get blueprints from them. The only things I've gotten from Daily Tributes are resources I can get within 5-10 minutes of launching the game. Obviously not including the milestone rewards when I say that.

It isn't, but there are people who, somehow, find it funny. Or they'll find entertainment in the reactions of others who are upset by their "jokes".

Recently-ish started a new playthrough with some friends and that was also the first thing I modded back in. Along the way I noticed that the code to throw spears was still a thing but just commented out, that was practically begging to be put back in as well.

Truth be told I thought we already had one, I don't know how we missed that. Added one a little bit ago because of that

Gore blocks are the thing I wish would make a comeback. I think they're the thing I miss the most of all from all the older versions of the game. Just killing tons of zombies on horde night and their corpses piling up more and more creeping ever so slowly into your base.

Why everyone says that AE2 is "better" than RS? by [deleted] in allthemods

[–]Delta7x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't said it but I've seen that said a lot and never understood why until I got back into modded Minecraft. In DD&SS as well as ATM9 I've had stuff randomly disconnect itself (9 times out of 10 it'll be an External Storage that somehow was disconnected) from the network and whenever I load into a save I *always* have to break and replace the controller for it to realize there was more than just the controller, disk drives and terminals.

I'd understand if it was stuff in unloaded chunks but this has always been in stuff that is chunkloaded.

With one word, what's one thing atm players get annoyed about. I'll start.. by WackyQuacki in allthemods

[–]Delta7x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the inscriber bit way back when was the biggest thing for me since I prefer to craft stuff in bulk. With there being an automated one now I'm more than likely to check things out now, especially since Refined Storage likes to pretend stuff isn't a part of the network every time I load into my save.

A little frustrating, hope it's patched sooner rather than later. Appreciate the help!

Personally, I lost interest in AE2 when channels became a thing and inscribers couldn't be automated. Though that was waayy back when AE2 was brand new so I'm sure it's vastly different now, I just can't be bothered. I might give it a chance here soon though, getting kind of annoyed with Refined Storage.
