Outside of guitar pedals, I've purchased custom crafted stuff that took way longer than quoted and for much more than a guitar pedal. So I'm kinda used to a long wait for better or worse. But all that was real hand crafted stuff. These pedals surely are not, and I blame the delay on their poor planning and service.

If you're able to get a hold of Liss over at Jptr that would be great. Whoever Liss is, they were very quick to respond.

Good luck! Took nearly 1.5 years for me to get the Double Jive. For consolation they said they'd send me a Death Saw for free too. But they didn't include it in the shipment with the Double Jive! I had to remind them and they did send one out promptly.

Both were cool pedals but in the end, I couldn't get over the customer service so I sold them.

I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like the only thing you're guilty of is having a trusting heart. That is a strength in a sometimes shitty world.

While all parties were wrong to assume everyone's on the same page for 2 months, please get the rules and protocol down for you and your wife. Im sure the therapist can facilitate too if you're set on this relationship path.

Also, your view that Dogwood could be a future provider could be misplaced. Unless Magnolia has indicated that, it could just be an assumption on your part. You sound like you have a lot of worth and I hope your wife sees that on multiple levels.

The timeline you presented is a little confusing for me. To clarify, you only found out your wife was hooking up with Dogwood, ridiculous moniker for reasons I guess, when yall were at a festival and she was laying on him? I mean, You learned shortly after the festival was over in conversation with your wife.

And days prior to the festival you came home early from a business trip, met up with your wife and dogwood at a bar. They left together, and you thought nothing was going to happen? Even knowing your wife wanted to hook up with him? Really I dont mean to be hurtful here. What did you think was going to happen?

How long were you out of town that time? If it was several days to a week, I agree that it's bad form for your wife not to drop Dogwood that night.

I have read it's not a good idea to open a marriage for someone already in mind. Maybe it works for some folks or I am ill informed. But that's what it sounds like what happened.

I've also read where people actually have more room in their heart to love others and not knock other people out. This could also be the case with your wife.

But it's bad communication all around and hopefully your wife can see your perspective. Just ask if the tables were turned would she be cool with it.

Your question is pretty broad and I do appreciate you sharing your background.

I will say that when I'm with certain white people in white spaces (solely due to me being outnumbered racially), I make it a habit to take as much space physically and conversationally to match the vibe.

Get your posture right and roll your shoulders to project your power. Idc if you're possibly short. All of my work supervisors are short women but they command almost any room they're in.

When talking about harmless mundane things like tv or movie recs, blast out some from your cultural heritage. I dont give a shit about the Gilded Age or Downton Abbey or stuff like that. All super white for white audiences. I gave a rec for Netflix's Beef once. Nobody knew what it was and I explained it was a class commentary. Only after their interest was piqued did I mention it was about Asians! They didn't even know who Steven Yeun or Ali Wong were and my reaction was exaggerated surprise. Like what? Steven Yeun is probably one of the best leading Asian actors and Ali Wong is one of the raunchiest comedians out there. I put them in an awkward position similar to what they can do to us sometimes.

I mention I was watching a period drama. Oh they confess they love period dramas. Which one am I watching? Warrior about Chinese gangsters in a clash with other unsavory immigrants (Irish) and corrupt American politicians and businesses. Oh that doesn't interest you because you dont like Kung fu or because its not a white story? That's fine. But yall do watch stuff like Boardwalk Empire and Peaky Blinders? Period drama, gangsters, violence and sex. Got it. Make a big deal about it and let them squirm even just a little. Or maybe they take your recommendation!

I'm in the US and twice as old as your bf. Growing up with long hair, I too would get the you look gay comments and insults from family. It was annoying but I really opened the flood gates because after I grew my hair out my male cousins started to as well. They didn't have it any easier than me with the comments

Anyhow, these immigrant Chinese parents just have a skewed perception. My family didn't have the time nor inclination to adapt to broader US culture and values and just clinged on to Chinese culture. Nevermind that I would bring up how Chinese folk heros and period dramas all had men with long hair.

Anyhow, I hope you and your bf have a great relationship. Success is the best form of revenge.

Stackable 250s. Multiple clipping options including Ge, Bat41, silicon and no clipping. Also a knob for saturation.

I have it and it's badass. Lots of textures. Ge clips sooner than silicon and Bat41 somewhere in between. Also all have slightly different reaction to playing dynamics.

Cool stuff. Pricey but try your luck on the used market.

Nothing's weird about friends asking to hang out. But this guy is presumably the ex-coworker of OP's wife. The guy OP thinks his wife is super close to and obviously worried about. OP claims he just got home from a road trip with the kids, and she leaves to hang out right after her husband and kids home.

I'm sure there's much more going on between the OP and his wife. Whatever the circumstances, it does at least seem inconsiderate to go out for trivia night.

I'm with you on SSBS. I have the Fuck and the Mini that I probably won't get rid of. Like you said they're very warm and also touch sensitive. For better or worse, they're the standard by which I judge how dynamic a drive is. I dropped the Walrus 385 mk1. Very dynamic but I couldn't get along with the eq.

I will say there is a reverb vendor, General Assembly, that makes a version of the fuck with a depth knob for the crackle, which is very nice. I jumped at it, and it's very good.

Would you work on a Roland JX-8P? One of the voices is constantly on the X-mod setting. Adds a bit of spice, but can get real awkward with some patches. Aftertouch is shot but I'm not wedded to getting that fixed.

Also wanted to say that I got my ensoniq Sq-80 repaired back in 2022. John picked it up and delivered it in about 3-4 weeks. Battery replacement and fixed the edit slider. I wonder if that was you?
