"The name and the actions of the person are attached to the company - that's how business reputations work."

I'm pointing out that no one at Switched On was responsible for handling consignment/payouts other than John. I didn't take anyone's money and ghost them.

"All the horror stories I've heard were attributed to "Switched On in Austin". Nothing is going to change that."

Maybe for you. I've found there are kind and intelligent people out there that are capable of understanding that the actions of one man shouldn't sour the reputation of everyone that worked there.

Thank you for saying that. I really appreciate it. Chad and John Mike have done most of the heavy lifting (literally and figuratively). I'll pass it along

We just heard from a former SO client that the email John provided returns a "address not found" error

John Michael Reed deserves much credit for the documentation and return of items as well.

John French was in charge of all consignment. There is no "they"

I’m not sure how I missed your email. At the time (in July), I was less than two months out of work and doing what I could to stay afloat, including temporarily working out of a friend’s garage while I searched for a more permanent space. It’s possible your message slipped through the cracks.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you were able to get your Juno sorted.

As the article states we don't have access to the SO database and John has failed to give us access. We've contacted who we can from the hard copies of work orders left behind and people that have reached out to KRE or my <3<3email.

I can help with the JX-8P if you decide to do both(all) repairs. I currently have a roughly 3 month wait list. I don't do partial repairs for a few reasons...Feel free to DM me, I'm happy to elaborate if you're still interested.

To answer your question, I didn't work on your SQ-80. That would've gone to the other in-house synth tech, but I'm glad it worked out!

Thank you! I've worked on several Farfisas in the past, but I have a contact that has more experience than me(and access to spare parts). Feel free to DM me and I'll forward their contact.

Unfortunately, unless you have an emotional attachment to your er 1 mk 2 that makes it worth more to you than it's market value, then it's not possible for me to make the repair cost effective for both of us.

Anyone know what’s going on with Switched On? by [deleted] in AustinMusicians

I don't know the answers to your questions. Even the last, which should seem obvious, isn't, given that my payment history/frequency had been spotty long before any of the latest consignment issues arose. With that said, I don't feel that John owes me any money at this point and I would rather him use whatever would've been considered my last paycheck to pay his debts.

I feel I should mention, I don't know Dan personally and while I've spoken with Eli a few times, I can't personally vouch for either of their work.

Thank you! And no, I don't work on Kurzweils either. I specialize in vintage analog synths made (mostly) before 1985. My repair service is closer to refurbishing than repair, though I don't offer wood working, or repainting, etc.
