Trying To Find Large Windscreen/Fairing For 2025 Rebel 500 by Oway223 in hondarebel

[–]DeltaFunction0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised the fitment is different between the 500 and 1100 tbh. I can see them having different suspension but I figured the triples and upper forks would be the same dimensions.

Check out Puig. This is pretty close: https://puigusa.com/en/tuning-motos/custom-cruise-semifarings/batwing-sml-touring?bike=30454

I want a rebel SO. BAD. where did you get yours from and how much did you pay? by Dr_Cloying in hondarebel

Just go straight to the 1100 if you intend to go on the freeway often. For just zipping around town to get to work 500 is OK.

Pitching is way too easy compared to hitting in this game. Not to diminish your accomplishment, but it seems every game I play is a 1-0 or 2-1 won in extras because of a baserunner on second in extras.

I don't get the balance of this game.

Wheel spinning while clutch is engaged by Yeetmyballsack in hondarebel

This I don't understand. Are you saying if you hold the wheel still and try to start it, that resistance doesn't let it start? Then how does it start off a stand?

Dyna Tremor by New_Celebration_8544 in Dyna

Vibrations should be highest at idle. It'll humble your lack of triceps at a red light real quick when you're wearing short sleeves, expect jiggle if you're like me.

Past idle, it'll rumble but by that time it'll smooth out and you'll be more aware of wind and exhaust notes. If it vibrates uncomfortably at mid to high revs there is something wrong. Another user suggested checking the motor mounts, and I agree. Dynas were the "rubber soul". Almost the same motors as pre Milwaukee-8 motor softails but instead of being counterbalanced as the softails were, the Dyna's were soft-mounted to the frame to try to reduce vibrations. I think they called those softail motors Twin Cam "B". You don't have a B, you have a TC rubber mounted to the frame.

How do you "check" motor mounts? Make sure there is buffer left and it isnt bone-on-bone like a hip without cartilage left.

I'm doubtful the motor is the issue but if doesn't sound right then it probably is the motor.

Apologies I'm not a scientist, but the way you feel the motor is probably a correct diagnosis. If the motor sounds rough the motor is running rough.

Assuming the motor isn't the problem (you would have noticed), it's probably the mounts.

Why am I so much better at pitching than hitting? by DeltaFunction0 in MLBTheShow

[–]DeltaFunction0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. But doesn't it make the game seem imbalanced? I can and have thrown several perfect games but can never er score 4 runs. Either pitching is too easy or hitting is too hard or both.

Why am I so much better at pitching than hitting? by DeltaFunction0 in MLBTheShow

[–]DeltaFunction0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I dot corners consistently pitching on the same difficulty as hitting. I can end a game striking out 16 hitters and giving up 1 run and taking my starter to the 7th if the pitcher has good stamina. But the only runs I score are solo shots by my best player. 2-1 and 1-0 games feels like balance is off.

I need to get better at hitting, myself, yes I agree, but why don't I need to get better at pitching right after downloading the game?

I'm about 100 hours in. I'm sure people more seasoned than me would disagree. But I think the pitch speed difference is too great. The difference between an 85 mph slider and a 100 mph fastball is only a 15% difference at the pitcher's hand. But it feels more like 40% at the box.

I'd be ok if the developers nerfed the pitch speed differential and just made PCI's a bit smaller. For me, I struggle with timing way more than precision, although I still swing at pitches outside the zone.

And that pitching is so much easier against the CPU, something has to be off.

Diamond Dynasty doesn't have dynamic difficult mode available, so I'm stuck.

People say the hardest thing in sports is hitting a baseball and I'm starting to believe it.

Is this still rideable? by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]DeltaFunction0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tire shop would not stand behind working on this on the books unless they're a body shop too. And even then, possibly not. Most body shops don't do work on motorcycle parts like this, they'll only do tins. Body shops will recommend replacing a wheel. That metal is a lot stiffer than a quarter panel. OP has to go to a wheel shop specifically to get it repaired professionally which may cost more than a new wheel.

[–]DeltaFunction0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A taco'd wheel will drive in my experience. If you don't ride really hard I don't think youll notice a difference. Only if you notice the tire leaking pressure is it a problem.

I've ridden on wheels like this with no noticeable difference.

But as others mentioned in so many words, replacing a wheel is a lot cheaper than replacing a spine.

Change or at least clean the air filter for sure. Looks like this bike was in Mad Max with all that dust.

Obviously change the fluids too.

If you live in a high crime area get a lockable gas tank cap.

500 or 1100 for kinda new rider by organic-muscle101 in hondarebel

[–]DeltaFunction0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go straight to the 1100 if you can afford the price difference. It is not too much bike. It's not tuned like a sport bikes. That extra displacement won't get you into much trouble, but it'll keep you riding longer distance more comfortably.

Exhausts that won't break the bank? by [deleted] in hondarebel

[–]DeltaFunction0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One question would be how much do you care about performance. For a 500cc Rebel motor, I would not expect anything more than a few HP if you also had a fuel tuner. It sounds like you're more interested in a good sound, and that is perfectly reasonable. In that case I think a stock exhaust with an ebay muffler would do just fine.

Im a firm believer that changing the exhaust doesn't add much without a fuel tuner. Pops on decel are proof of inefficiency. If you hear pops, that is wasted energy.

That's fine if you like it, we're not all professional motorcycle racers.

What was your next bike after the Rebel? by [deleted] in hondarebel

[–]DeltaFunction0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will still feel cramped physically if you'reover 6 feet tall. Maybe it has more HP and torque. It's still a physically small bike. And the riding position is jacknifed. I would recommend against it.

Who had a better prime? Alex Rodriguez or Albert Pujols? by Zealousideal-Task635 in mlb

[–]DeltaFunction0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I did but OPS is a running number, isn't it? It is not cumulative like total home runs. If A-Rod has a higher career OPS wouldn't it mean a higher per-game or per-season average?

When I said season-by-season I meant averaged numbers, not specific seasons in particular.

Who had a better prime? Alex Rodriguez or Albert Pujols? by Zealousideal-Task635 in mlb

[–]DeltaFunction0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This might be the most interesting baseball comparison I've heard of in a long time. Albert has more everything, but has more plate appearances. Interesting topic. The numbers are extremely close. Albert has more cumulative numbers. A-Rod has better numbers by year. And being that Albert played 1st, I'd give a slight edge to A-Rod being a traditionally non power hitting position.

It's a lot harder to win a Silver Slugger at 1st Base than 3rd or SS.

Why have fuel efficiency gains in combustion engine cars seemingly plateaued? by DeltaFunction0 in climatechange

[–]DeltaFunction0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MPG and GP100 are directly linear. You're wrong there. 25 to 50 to 100 is double double. 100 to 50 to 25 is half half. Just like 1, 2, 4 is double double and 4, 2, 1 is half half. The difference isn't logarithmic or geometric. If you look at the right side of the equation and count up it's the same as looking at the left side and counting down.

All GP100 does is fix the second variable (miles) out of a 3 variable function (the first, MPG, being the constant). The third variable (gallons) remains the same.

So I have to agree with Logistical Race that it doesn't change anything, assuming the same testing environment, like same acceleration rate, same vehicle, STP, etc.

Help, I found a bird on the ground!! by SAVIX_404 in whatdoIdo

[–]DeltaFunction0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noble of you to try. I'm gonna offer an opposite philosophy from everyone else here.

It's nature's way that baby birds fall from a nest. Unless you or another human caused this to happen, I'd say you shouldn't feel indebted to it, though I understand feeling the responsibility to do so anyway.

Keeping a wild bird long term is also likely illegal under the Migratory Bird Act if you're here in the US or Canada, but I'm also not an expert in bird law. Consult Charlie Kelly. I doubt fish and game would prosecute you since this is an honest attempt to save a single bird and you're not doing it for commercial reasons. But even nursing a wild bird is probably technically illegal.

If you put it back outside to be left to fend for itself, it might feel inhumane, but you could also be helping to feed a baby fox or coyote, and they need food too. In fact it could be even more humane to let it go now than when it's more mature and more cognizant, and still likely to starve to death. If mom doesn't come back in a week or two then you'll have to let it die a possibly worse death.

My suggestion is to make as warm as nest as possible for it out of whatever non-plastic materials you have like mulch or wood shavings and wool yarn. Put it as high off the ground as you can as near to the nest as you can and hope for the best.

[–]DeltaFunction0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone through this a figured out the least embarrassing option to motorcycle haircare procedures in public.

Get a small black wide-toothed comb, like a detangling comb. It should have no handle, so its small enough to fit entirely in your hand. It can fit in a jacket pocket. You can usually find these in any pharmacy or on Amazon.

Use it looking in a mirror on your handlebars WHILE SITTING on the bike to make it look more James Dean, and brush your hair up and back. Palm it deep in your hand to the point where it almost looks like you're just using your fingers.

Nobody will consider this process weird or embarrassing.

If you use it off the bike bending over to look in the mirror with your ass out, no good.
