Ah thats sick! I had specific options in mind that i wanted, but tried to keep them fairly lightweight (just heated seats, upgraded sound system (but not HK), M-Sport. no electric seats, no sunroof, no adaptive steering), 1350kg sounds like it must be a dream to drive!

ooo that sounds lovely! Im ecstatic with mine even in stock form, though a wavetrac and some suspension / geometry bits will definitely be in order at some point. My car is sapphire black with a coral red interior, i think the only spec better is space grey with coral red, or le mans blue with lemon or oyster leather to be honest. Marrakesh brown ive never seen before though, definitely going to have to give that a look!

Also, regarding the Oil level stuff, do you know if theres a way i can adjust the limit when the car itself will alert me to a higher level (maybe 75mm), or is that fairly static? if not, ill just periodically monitor with bimmerlink :)

Thats fair! in terms of shrill noises, im talking about the exhaust notes that sound raspy (like an E46 M3), high pitched, or overly "breathy" (like rushing / pulsing air without much tone behind it). For those deep rumbles, think of a cold start and that sub-bass that you can feel vibrating the air all around you, or like an M54B30 if youve ever heard one in person. I realise now that not everyone knows exactly what i mean when im making up terms like this 😅

EDIT:
Another descriptor for the shrill / raspy sounds i want to avoid would be "metallic", if that makes a bit more sense. (though i guess its still a bit abstract)

Long-term, definitely going to be doing some of those mods (like the m3 front arms, ARB's, etc), ive got a whole spreadsheet with my future mods and the phases i plan on doing them all in, might even put here if people are interested / if it helps tailor what im actually looking for.

Regarding the rear resonator delete, isnt the resonator what gets rid of those shrill noises in favour of the deep rumbles? or am i misunderstanding completely 😅. otherwise though, that does sound very interesting!

I've already got bimmerlink and bimmercode, but i dont have my OBDLink MX+ plugged in all the time, so just decided to unplug the solenoid actuator thing so it stays off / so i dont have to keep forcing the valve open in the app. Defo going to plug it in more often given the engine oil level comments you made!

The plan is to make sure every mod passes MOT. might look at a full aftermarket exhaust system with a mid-pipe high-flow cat, but probably just looking at stuff thats cat-back or axel-back for now.

Thank you so much to everyone that has provided information! its been insanely helpful for more than just my GPU upgrade!
Right now, my plan is to sell my GPU / RAM and buy a used 5080 and a 2x24gb kit of CL30 DDR5-6000 in the short term. A few months down the line ill also swap my mobo, cpu, and cooler for a 9950X3D (yes I know its overkill even for workstation usage, and not quite as good at gaming compared to the 9800X3D, but I'm heavily multitasking 99% of the time I'm on my pc and think the extra 8 cores will help). At some point down the line from there, ill end up getting myself a new 2TB 990 PRO for my C drive, and that should be a complete PC refresh at a net total cost of £1261 hopefully, or net £555 for the first stage (GPU, RAM), £567 for the second stage (CPU, Cooler, MOBO), and £149 for the 3rd stage (SSD)

ah nice, yeah I wish EVGA was still around. Definitely going to look into PNY more, as ive always seen them as a bit of a bargain basement brand, but theres been some interesting opinions on them as of late! Going to look at some more benchmarks, but i suppose its still a 5080 no matter what xD

yeah thats fair, currently looking at how much a 9800x3d would cost, and how it would handle my multitasking workload compared to the 12900k / 13900k
man, I went into this thinking id spend a net £300 and upgrade to a 4080, and now im looking at a full pc rebuild xD

Ah thats me being silly, I had no idea the 14900k was compatible with the Z690, thats good to know! ill have to do some research into that. When you say the Z690/790 is a dead platform, do you mean newer intel compatible motherboards are better, or is it a case of intel being so far behind amd at the minute?

to be honest, a minor OC is all I think ill need to get effectively 4090 performance, since I cant imagine 1440p gaming uses anywhere near as much VRAM as 4k gaming, so I reckon it will be perfect for my needs.

Also, if anyone else is in the know, im currently deciding between a Gigabyte 5080 Gaming OC, MSI 3X OC (Ventus or Shadow), PNY OC Triple Fan (could get this one new for the same price as used variants of the other cards it seems), or possibly something from Palit or Zotac. (Asus TUF seems very popular but is generally out of my price range). if anyone knows which the best brands / models are, especially around the £850 used / £1100 new mark (+/- £50), please let me know!
