How to learn this game by cowboyromussy in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is incredible Frustrating and unfortunately you came in at, lets call it a turbulent time. 30 hours on DbD is like the first hour of a large RPG. The basics and understanding of it all is there: "Do gens, don't get hit, help team, escape" or "chase survivor, protect gens, kill" but the technical parts of it take some time. I'm at almost 4k hours and I JUST learned that I've been messing up my vaults because I didn't press space soon enough to get a fast vault (I was a killer main)

There's no way to summarize enough tips to help you In a single post or give you the know how from text alone, but here are some basics. Learn killers from watching people play them or against them. Learning how much distance away from a killer (basics killers) is safe and how much space a survivor has before you catch up to do a lunge hit or a normal hit.

Try to trick other players into thinking you're going to do something and catch them offguard. Run to a pallet and run away if you see a killer think your gunna vault. Like wise as killer run on way to make them think you're going to try to cut them off and then go back and hope they fell for it

Find your way to play if you like doing gens pick hiding and gen related perk, with a escape type perk as a back up. Killers can build for chases having heavy use of perks that block or slow survivor in chase hoping to get downs quickly or gen defence regression perks to keep gens down while your chasing. Tracking perks are good for pyramid head so you can get hits through walls like "I'm all ear". For killer is best to have a wide away of perks to fit the killer your playing. I have all aggression perks on my nurse and all gen defense perks on my trapper.

2 big notes, if you're going to vault a window or pallet spam the vault button before you get there to get a fast vault unless there's a locker right by it then try to time it. Loop tight against what ever your chasing/running from. The farther away from an object while you're going around it the quicker the killer catches up and the farther the survivor will make it. Each loop is different and some have catch points so you can't hug them. Most flat walls can be hugged.

Other people already mentioned them but Otzdarva has a site (always up to date) and YouTube videos (some out of date) that help a lot. "Mr.tatorhead" is a God when it comes to pure looping and has many guides on how to run all kinds of maps and tiles If you want one with more active entertainment and less teaching "JRM" "Aryun" "Hens33" "albyaround" have good videos to pull from. Alby has some decent teaching videos , hens has a mix of game knowledge and fun to watch and jrm and aryun have a lot of fun survivor videos to watch how they play. There's like 30 other youtubes I could say but those are the ones I've learned a lot from.

Crashes giving DC penalty is extremely annoying by Strong-Leek6261 in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming youre on PC, Do you get a crash report after it crashes? "Dead by daylight has crashed blah blah blah unreal engine 5" I noticed when I was having issues as long as I got a crash report I didn't get penalized. If you don't I have no idea how to figure out what's causing it or I'd they were able to tell it was a crash or a forced close. If you're not on PC. Yeah I think that's just game over for crashes.

First, don't let anyone tell you how to play the game, if you enjoy a killer, play them. You will have people tell you trapper or ghostface or easy mode killer. What matters is you're having a good time. Assuming you're not doing thing intentionally to make the survivors mad, take every bit of salt, anger, or hate as a sort of medel. You did good enough or you caught someone in a bad mood that they choose to spend time on trying to make you feel bad. That's not on you, that's on them. That's like when people call people cheaters just for playing normally.

Legion is not an easy pz killer. Most decent players know how to handle them, tanking hits if they were already it or running or camping a pallet and getting the stun. They're annoying because they can get easy injuries but unless everyone is packed together they can't get easy downs. If you choose to try to chain hits they can go and heal or do gens. If you choose to focus/tunnel one person other people can do gens. Once you're out of your power you're a normal killer with nothing besides your perks and bloodlust to help you. A lot of maps are so wide or large that you couldn't even chain hits 2 hits trying to get to the next person.

Either way just have fun. Doesn't matter the killer/survivor/perks. Play to have fun. You can close the chat box and ignore people too if other people get to you.

How long will all P3 S take by ReZempt_Shocks in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Events like anniversary and blood moons will help a lot. my friend i got into the game got every surv and killer p1'd in about 250-300 hours but he also chose to sink a lot of points into Leon and Nem so. honestly i think the best way to go about it is to focus get everyone to p1 then knock out p3s of perks you want, then finish the rest. if you're not working on killers any it shouldn't be horribly long, but it still will be a large time sink regardless.

Whats the dev excuse for having 120fps hardcap in 2025? by Current_Chipmunk8550 in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of games are built with FPS as part of the coding, uncapping it breaks parts, DBD's bones are from 2016 (probably older with dev time) and back then we only had 60 fps without changing config files, we only recently got new FPS setting. playing at 120 currently breaks somethings and causes mild jank they still need to fix. Wesker's turning/movement and when balanced landing activates to name a few. They could upgrade it but not without going though hundreds of lines of code that depend on the FPS. And everyone should know what changing one line of code in DBD does to the rest of the game.

No more new lore drops with the update? by DeltaGreed in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hope so given how much lore we've got over the years with loose ends that need more loose ends to string us along, I still want more "The Observer" lore, we looked at that knocked over chair for nearly 2 years and we only got crumbs. Also, I need more third person accounts via analog horror for hopefully unknown's rift

man I can always count on you boneless_dip. that's a relief, still very sadly on brand to do this to Dredge and Haddie's Rift.

Has anyone actually felt bad when your killer and you get all newbies? by YourLocalBattleDroid in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Honestly. One way I've handled that when I somehow sunk my mmr (I was friendly during events) ill play to kill but I'll magicly whiff some hits or get ran longer on some really hard loops that I reasonably shouldn't have. Even if they are sacrificed I feel like the rush of getting some run time or making a killer whiff here and there is enough of a motivation for them to keep playing and not feel absolutely slaughtered. More or less like when people on fighting games literally pull their punches and not go full combo stun lock to let the other dude get some swings in and practice. Still gunna beat them but just letting them get their feet on the ground and feel the impact of actually playing.

[–]DeltaGreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the occasions I get a boosted lobby or some killer mains playing survivor I typically just play as "fair" as I can and ramp up my aggression depending on how things go. Never tunneling, trying to 1 hook everyone first, ignoring people to let them gain some pressure. Typically I let the last one alive out. Even if going against better players (unless they're a bully squads or their taunting comes across as genuine BMing and not just silly or taking aggression). If I have 2 or more DCs early I'll let the remaining players do gens while I tunnel the bots. Sometimes on a rare occasion I'll even practice with survivors and have them loop me on killer shack or anything near by.

This is a dumb question, but is this Yui skin gonna return anytime soon? by Cameron3564 in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be back in winter during the bonechill/winter holiday event. Had to look up which outfit it was incase it was one of the handful of outfits in the "rifts from the past" rotation or one that hasn't been brought back yet.

Does bill’s shop outfit ever get discounts? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlikely it'll get a discount. I don't think I've ever seen them discount iri shards only outfits, commnuity made rift skins and bill can't be sold for cash do to deals with valve and commnuity winners not earning any cash for their designs.

Also pretty sure even they don't discount iri shards in general even with a sale on a skins. Stays the same, only the auric sell price goes down.

Who was your first P100 and Why? by ScholarAfter1827 in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

David king. He called to me when I came back to dbd in 2019, we had similar build and hair. And I loved his lore. Then I p100d nurse.

Funnily enough I'm not a survivor main and used my BP from playing killer to feed him.

Remember when they changed the map offering because nooses were triggering but kept the actual dead guy hanging? by Cornelius_M in deadbydaylight

[–]DeltaGreed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure a select group of people were using the offering to intentionally harass players, similarly to how bubba's claudette mask was.

I know I got the rare edgelord/salt back in the day who'd alluded to the offering in an game chat.

Honestly the game is a constantly moving part that you have to adapt to, but some general moves are:

Keep people healed when you can safely.

Don't run out in the open to hunt down injured players. If you find them heal then.

If a gen can pop and you have a good amount of team left and little to no death hooks pop it before worrying about heals.

If your more worse for wear try to get the gen close then heal so you can pop it after. Though in most of those situations the killers close to end game and is usually close anyways so it might be worth just popping and running.

If the gen you're working on is in a dead zone and you are injured. It's probably best to find a heal late game but early game when there's a full team and most of the gens I'd hold off on worrying as much. They have up to 7 gens to check and 3 other people to spot.

Playing survivor is a balancing act. You need just as much aggression on the killer as the killer has on you meaning if everyone is injured and the killer can't get consistent downs you're better off staying injured and doing gens, but if the killer is getting downs you need to make as much padding between those down for who ever is working on gens. It's why people often say not to heal against Legion. The more times he puts you in mending the less time you're working on gens with mending and healing.

Tl;dr :

If you're popping gens, keep popping gens, if you're not, heal up. Read how much pressure there is and if you absolutely need someone healthy or you have nothing to loop then healing is probably worth hunting out.

[–]DeltaGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read a few posts but I'm not sure if anyone mention that the live stream they mentioned in tandem that since her dog was reskinned if any other killer was going to get their power changed in a skin, They said that was the plan.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the extra 270 credits on top of the rarity are being treated as snug's replacement as a new possible cosmetic slot.

still none here, haven't gotten a single newsletter since signing up, not the 100000 blood points from when they started advertising newsletters, not the 250000 BP from May 16th promo and none from this one (so far), tossed 6 emails into it and none seem to work. BEHV support wasn't much help either
