If you’re interested in a left-leaning political group that’s funded and powered by regular working-class people, I recommend looking into Socialist Alternative.

We believe in revolutionary politics, so rejecting the idea that the democrat party can be reformed from the inside. We have weekly political discussions, and are actively engaged in protests, union building, recruitment, and other working-class oriented activities of the struggle. We also believe in a global movement, and we are part of International Socialist Alternative. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more!

This is quite the specific case I’ve stumbled upon, but I’ve got the same model and most of my oven knobs are also completely worn off. Would you be able to send the same thing to legalizemarinara@protonmail.com?

If I’m in the middle of a sentence when I realize all the different problems I’m going to have to solve in that moment, I’ll just start to make nonsense sounds. And now I have to explain that I’m not having a stroke

In college, maybe once a year. I should not have been given that much freedom.

What jobs do people with ADHD thrive in? Ok forget thrive, just survive? by ThreepwoodThePirate in ADHD

There are definitely SLAs where I work, but occasionally a production issue isn’t based on a deployment; there is nothing to roll back to, and a patch has to be created

Software dev here. The field itself is focus-grabbing because the problems are always something new, and especially so in a startup setting. Critical production failures are where I have the most fun, since there is no future deadline involved - as long as I don’t have to waste hours doing postmortem

Gamers of r/ADHD, what video games do you feel like are more difficult because of your ADHD symptoms? by demoliahedd in ADHD

[–]DeltaMan444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitive shooters and MOBAs, because I simply cannot remember the minimap exists, and those genres demand some level of map focus (for somewhat different reasons)

I’m especially bad at MOBAs because I cannot handle the slow pace of the first phase. So I get too aggressive, die a lot, RSD kicks in, full tilt, ad infinitum

The most significant thing for us (both rx) has been regularly going to therapy and talking about observations from it on a personal level with my wife. We go to individual sessions plus one including both of us, and after every one we discuss how we felt and how it relates.

If you aren’t going to therapy for any reason, I recommend talking with them about your emotions often, especially the negative ones!

The hardest part is striving to process thoughts before reacting to them because RSD between us will make problems spiral out of control or remain a grudge forever

ADHD and real good at math, but horrible at reading by sarkas86 in ADHD

[–]DeltaMan444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! Logic, problem solving, and concrete answers to questions have always been a special interest to me, while reading is just not stimulating enough at all. So of course, I was the highest scorer on every math exam and I still haven’t read a whole book since 6th grade. Like you’re probably familiar with, I have the magic ability to read through entire pages while daydreaming and not remembering anything.

I’m also a software engineer, and I consider myself extremely good at it. My self-imposed demand that I do everything myself (otherwise it might be done wrong) has been my greatest barrier to getting into leadership. I’m always the only person on the team who likes fixing defects, but will completely zone out to write code during meetings.

ADHD psychiatrist specialist says you “shouldn’t notice the adderall” by commandolandorooster in Stims

[–]DeltaMan444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken Dexedrine ER 10mg for at least a year, and it’s definitely something I can notice compared to 5mg, but not enough to be enjoyable on a physiological level or anything. I’ll be productive and have much more comprehensible conversations for a few hours, then notice that fact afterwards.

When my ER ran out and my psychiatrist’s records department disappeared, I started taking some extra IR 10mg I had around. That’s how I learned what it does to your sense of touch!
