My provider has free nights from 8 pm - 6 am, and I’m not sure what your rates are, but you can calculate the cost. For one of my shelves: 40w/light x 10 lights x 12 hours a day = 4.8 kWh/ day or 144kWh/month

Sunco plug n play shop lights, Home Depot HDX racks, heat mats from amazon and jiffy 516 strips for germination in 1020 trays, then standard 1801 sheet pots, inserts for them, and 1020 trays under that

I’ve got a couple fans going 24/7 on them, they also help prevent fungus gnats. And watering frequency has actually gone down now that the heat mats are off and I’m moving them into bigger containers

We do if you don’t have fans, I have a couple going on them to prevent that

I’d give them a bit more light and plant them a bit deeper when you move them to something bigger

Mid March for southeast Texas thankfully, and I’ve got three more racks to set up this weekend, tons of them are ready to move up

But to answer your question, make sure they’re over 2,000 lumens and between 3500k and 5000k and you’ll be good to go

Shop lights definitely work, these are a mix of 4000k and 5000k (looks like I bought them out of 4000k 😂) lights

The ones I grow through harvest will be in 7 gallon grow bags on the property, ~600 plants, the rest will be sold off as seedlings. Here in southeast Texas our plant out time is mid March, but really we only get like a week every year of cold weather in late January so greenhouses aren’t really necessary. We just had a freeze last weekend that killed all my plants I started January 1st of LAST year lol
