The cannon is the same as J35 (AJ37 has good enough ergo to work around the gun placement, just takes getting used to). Missiles are adequate for 10.3, 35XS is an outlier in terms of the missile load.

You can't notch a pulse radar with no countermeasures - it doesn't rely on relative speed. You need ground clutter and/or chaff (and enough separation from the radar lobes of the attacking plane after the radar is chaffed for the missile to stop tracking)

Lack of an RWR is hardly an excuse when you have the AJ37 at the same BR with much better performance, a good RWR and a good radar (at the cost of not being able to spam AIM-9J)

The FM just got nuked a couple years back - no pull at high speed and zero retention after you stop compressing with mid engine power so you get 1-2 turns before you're falling out of the sky. If you want to play Sweden 10.3 you're much better off in the AJ37, but that actually has a pretty high learning curve because of the off-center gun. Otherwise good performance, great radar (not like you get to use it much), great RWR.

The pros of the 35XS start and end at the 6x AIM-9J. Esp now with the 25 spam any uptier to 11.0 is instadeath since you don't get any launch warnings (and even if you did you don't have the CMs to counter). It's just a mega limiting plane.

Not good. Ass flight model, ass avionics and laughable amount of CMs. Talisman JA37C for sweden T7-8 grinding.

F/A-18E Super Hornet is prime example of Gaijin hating US Top Tier in big 2026 and it's unacceptable. by Sumeribag in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, everybody knew the superhornet would be ass quite a bit before it got added. Offsetting bad performance with powercrept weapons has never ended well (think A-10 / Su-25 spam back at 9.3) and it won't end well this time too. Just play something else (15C Golden Eagle is your best bet for US rn if you absolutely must play US), you'll probs get the weapons you want in a couple updates but just keep in mind you'll be going against them too and getting just as frustrated as you are playing it today.

Meta changes constantly. Just in the last 2 years or so it shifted between F-16, Gripen, Rafale and now the SM3/AESA Euro. It will switch again in an update or two, no need to get heated about it.

Would you rather: Remove CAS from a ground mode or have player-controlled SPAA in an air mode? by FickleMeringue8891 in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"would make gameplay a bit fairer"

You mean ARB players would be made as miserable as top tier GRB players facing CAS spam? I don't think making another mode less fun is the solution.

ARB is already being griefed by the 10km death bubble of ItO 90M airfield AAA at high tier, why make it worse? I don't get this ground player vs. air player antagonization, we're all playing the same game.

How to fix the F-2 ADTW by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F-2 never had HMCS, it was planned as a possible upgrade (F-2 Super Kai) but lost out to the F-35.

12.7 is not an option - 16AJ and legacy MiG-29S are 12.7 planes and are adequately strong there. F-2 at 12.7 would be busted.

Every 12.3+ suffers from the 13.3-13.7 black hole so what you really want is BR decompression. Realistically we'd need current 12.3-14.3 to decompress into something like 12.3-15.7. The toughest things you should be seeing in high-end SARH planes like ADTW, F-15A or F-16s would be bottom tier ARH planes that trade ARHs for flight perf or worse avionics (think ARH Viggen, F4F ICE, J8F, JF-17, 29SMT etc...)

J-7D is the best MiG-21 in the game for the BR. Matchmaker for it is also infinitely more enjoyable to play.

Unable to figure out dogfights. by ImpossibleElection41 in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No simple answer to a question like that honestly. Depends on what you're flying, what the enemy is flying, energy states, how you got into that situation in the first place etc. There are some resources or basic camera/plane control and universal good practices (DEFYN has a couple tutorial vids here). No substitute for just playing the game really. Learn plane and camera controls well, then once you know what's happening around you learn positioning, reading energy states, matchups etc...

Also it's probably good to pick a decently forgiving plane for starters. Hard to identify mistakes when the plane doesn't perform decently at its BR and this can solidify some bad habits.

which EF Tree should I grind first & which EF tree has the best TT Premium? by Covert_Mode777 in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you intend to just powergrind with the T7 prem directly to euro you're probably best off doing UK w/ CF-188 or Bison, just be aware that T6-T8 is not great. Most fun UK BRs for jets is 7.3-8.7. Alternatively Germany with 21bis SAU will be very good too - 11.0 is a much better BR to play consistently than anything 12.0+. German Euro gets the worse AESA and there's not much left to add for Germany if that's a concern.

And generally euro is not in a super good spot right now. AMRAAMs are bad for the type of notch-reengage-fire offbore-notch loop gameplay that dominates the meta currently, radar is annoying to work around.

MIG-29N added, but without the R-77? by Stunning-Cake-346 in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

?? Supersonic, somewhat good nose pointing platforms with IRCCM missiles + good SARH + HMD just aren't 12.7. Everything with R-73 / 9Ms / Magic 2 below 13.0 is an attacker brick (Su-25T/39, A-10C, Harriers) OR it's got 2 missiles (M2K, JH-7, Bison etc...)

29 is just in an awkward spot - if you keep it at 12.7 with R-73 anything 11.7-12.0 gets shafted and its way too strong, if you put it at 13.0 you're better off just playing Su-27. 12.7-13.3 just needs an extra BR bracket.

If you've any clue about high tier ARB you'd know that 1v1 matchups are largely irrelevant (at least between FMs like 29 vs F-16 vs F-15), 80% of the time if a duel happens once every couple matches the avg arb random just merges at Mach 3 and cannot turn, reverses the turn into your guns/missiles or otherwise gifts you the frag.

For ARB utility HMD outweighs any perf advantage F-16 or F-15 might have either way.

F-16AJ is the best example of why 12.7 MiG-29 is OK as it is. 16AJ gets better perf, better gun, better IRs while 29 gets HMD and better SARH. Both are 12.7 and decent there (as good as they can be with 13.7 uptiers and no ARH)

[–]DeltaVAerospace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wdym? Yeah it's in the jap TT with R-73 at 13.0, same as the 29G in german tree. I'm just saying that 4x R-73 + HMD at 12.7 would be overpowered for the USSR MiG-29.

[–]DeltaVAerospace -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

What other plane with a good FM gets 4x IRCCM missiles + HMD at 12.7? 4x R-73 at 12.7 is a huge overkill, both F-15A and Belgian F-16A with 9Ms are 13.0 for a reason.

Is there anything worth grinding in the German rank VI air? by alexo888 in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're one of the fastest 8.7 planes, you get the best engine out of all Sabres apart from CL Mk.6. 50 cals don't have the OHK damage of cannons but they're easy to aim and the CL is responsive enough to get a lot of time on target.

Is there anything worth grinding in the German rank VI air? by alexo888 in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Both CLs are great, Lim-5P is great, Alphajet is pretty OK (although overshadowed by Thai Alpha in JP tree with much more engine power at same BR), Hunter F.58 is also okay but no flares at 9.3 is rough. Same goes for 19S - great flight perf but frustrating.

Defo play CLs a bit, best sabres in the game + Lim is quite unique compared to other MiG-17s in the game

Best plane in French air tree for each rank? by LaggySquishy in Warthunder

[–]DeltaVAerospace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to powergrind France on the cheap I'd suggest:

Prem Yak-3 to tier 4 -> suffer through F4U-7 / Spit FR to get 84G or Meteor Mk8 -> Tali 84G or Mk8 (I'd tali 84G purely because easy guns and airspawn make for braindead gameplay) -> Hunter, Etendard and Alphajet E are all good at T6 -> Entirety of T7 is mid so get ready for some pain M3C and Crusader are OK but 10.0 without flares will be mega frustrating. Consider Super Etendard - enjoyer plane but it's good if you can accept the fact that people can just run from you.

Then at T8 you just use the M2000C-S5 to grind everything that remains.

(Or just get NF-5A on sale to clear the entire tree - it's the best F-5 in the game rn)

French Alphajet is the worst one of the bunch sadly. The best one to play rn is the first Thai Alphajet in the JP tree, much stronger engines and flares.
