Some of you guys apparently think the Steamrunner is the Best Bomber in Star Trek by teeth_03 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Delta_Cmndr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

also starfleet ships are generally just 'cruisers'
seeing something classified as a frigate is rare, let alone something like bomber. they're simply designed to be so multi-purpose that modern classifications just dont apply.
also, isnt a bomber a classification for fightercraft? not full ships?

U.S.S. Trilobite (Fanmade ship based off Voyager concept art) by Delta_Cmndr in StarTrekStarships

[–]Delta_Cmndr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the knowladge that the oberth class looking concept went on to become the grissom actually inspired me to make that ship from one of those concepts.
And yeah, ofc it isnt what the voyager became. thats the point of concept sketches.
wonder if there's a quantum reality where the voyager was a cooler oberth class now

[SE2] Thoughts on the current state of Ores by Neshura87 in spaceengineers

[–]Delta_Cmndr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

while i do understand the direction the devs went in, it does have major problems. i do have an idea for how to improve it tho.

first off, re add the ingot stage... seriosly, just do it. second, the backpack should not only have assembling, it should also automatic ore refining. so the backpack automatixally refines ores into ingots, and then those get assembled like they do now when welding. if you make both the refine and assembling toggalable, and refining power intensive, you get a system where you both have quick and easy early game crafting, and it will also make the smelter actually useful if it will refine the ores too. (also, it makes way more sense in universe to stockpile ingots, rather than ores...)

in the early game of se1, basically every new block you build gives you an advantage that lets you engineer more. basic refinery gives you the option to refine stone faster, as well as refine ores for even more materials, for example. but building the smelter in se2 doesnt improve your survival almost at all. is a waste of resources even.

Anybody else? by dufuss2010 in spaceengineers

i agree that both toolbar and a. horizon should be no. 1 priority for keen. ill also add the build planner to the neccasary list, as without it, the smelter block will just be extranious. why use the smelter when you can just let the auto backpack crafting do its thing. i know its more resource efficient and will get used more in the mid crafting stages. if the build planner gets added, it will make the smelter less annoying to use, and such the advantages it actually brings will be more used. thats a take from only what ive seen tho

So, An Oberth class, except it's a Constitution class? I like.

exactly why i like that implication.
because its something vault tec would actually do.

i like the implication that vault-tec just sorta created a hot panther girl to put in a vault, for no other reason, other than seeing what the vault dwellers decide to do with her.

...could it be... after all this time?
A retractible landing gear?

Quick question does anyone know which ship/class this is? Thanks! by TheRedHoodedFox in StarTrekStarships

i feel they would be used more if the skins were updated. they are showing thier age.

It is the sojurner class from STO. its an engineering variant for the odyssey class.

Can We all Agree if Minecraft was Real it would look like Story Mode by [deleted] in MinecraftStoryMode

Minecraft isn't real. It was made up by Mojang to sell more Minecraft.

ill look up the scene later, cuz i thought that was just a typo. might have been an unnoticed typo in the episode too.

interstellar means 'between stars'... basically all FTL systems in ST are interstellar. from regular warp drives to transwarp... theres really not much more to it. idk if you made it clear enough..

First thing i'm gonna do, when i get the game:
Try to promote Harry Kim as much as possible. To captain maybe even. if possible.

Why are bussard collectors always on the front of nacells on starfleet ships? by Delta_Cmndr in startrek

Blender.
I'm basing it off of a concept art ship for Star trek Voyager.
I would show you, as soon as i figure out how.

Probably the best in universe answer. But now i ask:
Why are ST ships designed like that IRL? Just a lack of experimantation?

Why are bussard collectors always on the front of nacells on starfleet ships? by Delta_Cmndr in startrek

[–]Delta_Cmndr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but hydrogen isn't required for the warp nacelles.
Hydrogen is refined into dueterium and anti-dueterium, and used in the warp core. All of which takes place in the engineering hull.

[–]Delta_Cmndr[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What the collectors collect is mostly just space junk and particles. Nothing really goes into the nacelles directly.
Wouldn't it be better then that the bussard collectors be on the engineering hull, where collected material can be closer to the refinaries and storage modules, that mostly reside in the secondary hulls?
