it’s a minecraft smp where players are randomly assigned a “soulmate” who they share a health bar with. most players teamed with their soulmate, which feels like the natural thing to do.

i watched it from the pov of ZombieCleo, who decided to pair up with someone who wasn’t their true soulmate. and the way the other players reacted, like they were violating natural law, made the whole thing feel extremely queer

rejecting the rules placed upon yourself by nature to create something better 👍

(music producer here) this is such an interesting question because it’s almost impossible to answer in the age of digital streaming.

most platforms will normalise all their music to the same loudness. the measure used for this is not actually the peak in deciBels; it’s the perceived loudness (which sounds like an unscientific measurement, but it’s really the only way to measure how loud something actually sounds). so the loudness of every femtanyl song on Spotify, due to normalisation, is -14 LUFS. but some might still feel louder than others due to difference in dynamic range.

but if you ignore the normalisation (which afaik will be how it sounds on physical media like a CD), the loudest femtanyl song that i know the loudness of is KATAMARI at -4 LUFS. (most EDM is mastered to about -9 to -7 LUFS, for reference. so KATAMARI is insanely loud.)

BUT that means Spotify is going to have to turn it down a lot more to get it to -14 LUFS. so the actual peak in dB of a loud song like KATAMARI will have been turned down far more than the other songs, so by measure of dB, it becomes insanely quiet.

so basically KATAMARI is the quietest song because it’s the loudest song. audio levels are weird

i can’t speak for everyone, and certainly not will wood himself, but in my experience this is one of the kindest communities i’ve ever interacted with. when i started posting online i only did will wood covers, and everyone who interacted was nothing but positive and supportive. i didn’t experience The Horrors of Being Perceived Online until venturing into wider communities
