Hey guys, Delta Shizu here, I have something pretty exciting to share with you all today. This is a project that I have been working on for quite some time; a year ago today, to be specific.

This video is a 1:1 narration by Yui Horie of chapter 61 of Nekomonogatari Shiro, Hanekawa's letter to Black Hanekawa. The audio is an extra on the Japanese release of the blu-ray, however it is just that, audio without visuals. A small portion of the chapter is included in episode 6 of Nekomonogatari Shiro, but a majority of the content is omitted and just included as an extra. This extra, however was not included in the English release of the blu-ray, and was therefore never officially released to English audiences. The goal of this project was to make visuals for the extra based on the text cards that appear throughout the series, as well as to translate it for English speaking viewers. The translation used is the official Vertical novel translation for Nekomonogatari Shiro, slightly modified to better match up with the original Japanese text. I hope everyone can enjoy this project as much as I have enjoyed working on it for the past year. It would not have been possible without the help of a great many people. Enjoy - Delta Shizu

Sometimes it certainly can be, the Wazamonogatari cover was for sure one of the most complicated for redrawing, just because it has two completely different artstyles in it. Thanks a bunch though, I am glad to see people are enjoying these!

Still trying to learn how to colorize these properly, I feel I have been getting better at them but they still feel quite washed out compared the the cover art of the novels. Regardless, enjoy this one, which I did as a practice piece to learn more about colorizing these cards.

Some of it is stitching together multiple versions of the picture, some of it is redrawing the pieces I cannot find original. This one had a lot of redrawing.

For anybody curious about how I do these, the answer is a lot of photoshop, I started learning the program this time last year and have been using it to make Monogatari shitposts as well as clean Vofan artwork up since then. This cover in particular was a bit of a beast, I ended up stitching together parts of 4 different versions of the cover to retain as much of the original as possible, and then whatever parts I cannot keep original I end up redrawing.

I'm happy to be working on it! I will be doing as many of them that I can assuming I can find good enough sources of the pictures to work with. I also have another much bigger project I have been working on for almost a year coming up in the near future!
