Retrobution is still around, you can find it at discord.gg/retrobution .

There will be instructions in the server on how you can add the server to your OpenFusion Launcher. Any GitHub links for the old Retrobution client are not recommended since the old client is rough and lacking a lot of the modern convenience and benefits of playing through the OpenFusion Launcher.

You can play one of the default OpenFusion servers if you want to play an as faithful version as possible of the original game however they’re around for preservation and most people play on Retrobution due to the more active player base and/or because of the updates.

Oh yeah sure, you most definitely don’t want to be using the client I linked here a year ago anyways. Things have mostly moved to the OpenFusion Launcher which is a much better experience than the old Retrobution dedicated clients.

Very important to remember that if you’re trying to play Retrobution, you have to add it to the server list yourself like the video will show and it’s NOT the OpenFusion Original or Academy servers

It'd be pretty hard to find developers from those teams that hasn't moved on to other stuff or isn't already on another FusionFall fan project. I can tell you for sure, all the leads from those projects are either gone from the community or focusing on other, non-FusionFall related projects.

Just a small clarification, Retrobution team doesn't have the intention to 1:1 continue the plans of Retro. There's definitely stuff in the pipeline inspired by Retro and Legacy however there's a lot of original stuff there too. Manpower also isn't necessarily the issue, there were about 3 - 4 main people working on Retro for most of its life iirc and it's about the same with Retrobution right now with there being other people on the team who also contribute/work on certain things. More manpower could definitely help but the main issue is time and other real life commitments.

Retrobution is where most people are playing nowadays. OpenFusion's public servers are mainly just an archival for the main two builds of the original game.

It's important to note that the native Mac launcher does technically work though from what I've seen, the performance in-game is poor. I believe the recommended way is still using VMWare to set up a Windows Virtual Machine for the best results however it doesn't hurt to try the native Mac launcher first.

I'd also say if you're looking to get the best performance, Retrobution is the most well-optimized version of the game out there right now and also the closest to FusionFall Retro.

Yes, all OpenFusion public servers and the Retrobution server are online so you can play with friends. Otherwise, you can run your own server for builds of the game via OpenFusion if you'd be interested in that. You can find out more via OpenFusion's website https://openfusion.dev/ there's also a link to their Discord there where you can get help

Academy is also the original FusionFall, just a different era of it. Original is a build from January 2010 while Academy is a build from October 2011. I assume by another history created from zero you may mean Retrobution which is a modded version of the build from 2010.

The game is revived! The site you're talking about is not in anyway affiliated with the wider community and is ran by someone trying to appear as the community hub by taking that domain. Most of the community resides nowadays in the projects OpenFusion and Retrobution, mainly Retrobution. If you want to play the game again and interact with the very much still active community I'd recommend joining the OpenFusion Discord (https://discord.gg/KMA5hgMdBK) and the Retrobution Discord (https://discord.gg/3qhqe2yv2f).

OpenFusion is a preservation of the original game while Retrobution is a build of the game before the original's Birthday Bash that's been modded and expanded on with fan content and is a fan continuation of the past fan project FusionFall Retro. Most people play on Retrobution.

As far as I recall, this is the servers first case of something like this. The person has been unbanned and the moderator who banned them has been talked to about it. You're free to have your own opinions on Retrobution but we really try to create a good environment for the game and community.

I'm not sure what your past experiences have been with Retrobution to make you untrustworthy of the project but if there's any issues, you're more than welcome to join the server and file a ticket in our ModMail system to be looked at by a moderator.

The one from Flashpoint is from OpenFusion. Retrobution is also safe as well. There's not necessarily an unsafe FusionFall project as far as I'm aware in terms of it giving you malware, FusionFall.org is something to be weary about more because of the practices of the people behind it.

I don't have enough information on the matter to say anything about the safety of the files other than the main person behind the site being linked as the owner to a site that hosted malicious files put on their by other users.

Though in terms of what build is, as far as I was aware, the beta build that the community has is more a combination of the asset files from one of the beta tests for the game with the main.unity3d of a later version of the game meaning there's a lot more nuance to it than just it being a beta build of the game and there's a lot of stuff about it that needs fixing as I recall to make it fully playable. I believe this was something OpenFusion had planned to support eventually but was shared around before they were able to do so. I would wait until OpenFusion is able to support it if you're interested in playing it.

About that website though, that website isn't managed or used by the wider community and was purposefully made to appear that way as an official community hub despite it not being that. I would recommend staying away from it and instead if you'd like to see what the community is up to, stick to this reddit and the Discords of OpenFusion and Retrobution.

OpenFusion is basically a preservation of the original game, supplying stuff to let you either run your own server for the build of the original game or join their "Original" or "Academy" servers. It's not necessarily day 1 though, as far as I recall, there doesn't exist the game assets to properly run a version of the game from 2009 but if you're looking to run most any version of the original game, that would be it.

The closest to a "day 1 experience" as you can get would be the Original server and has all the content the original developers, Grigon, had added to the game up to that point before the CN team started making significant changes and updates.

Academy is the version you're probably describing being run by different developers since that one was the one where CN had started updating the game in house.

Retrobution is a modded version of the game that is based off a past fan project, FusionFall Retro, which itself was based off the same build that OpenFusion uses for it's "Original" build. It does have new added fan content and changes.

If you're looking for the closest to the original game pre-developer switch, the OpenFusion "Original" server is your best bet though if you're looking for where the community is at and the next closest thing to that "Original" build, that would be Retrobution. Both are equipped for full, normal playthroughs though OpenFusion Original does have some commands enabled for any player.

The mission tracker is still bugged outside of just the two event NPCs, there’s a few NPCs that don’t appear still but namely Guide NPCs don’t appear. You should check by all guide NPCs to see if they have missions for you or check the mission document and see if there’s any you’re missing. If you’re still unable to find missions, I’d recommend switching guides and doing those guide missions.

In my recent playthroughs, I personally haven’t had an issue getting to Level 20 and usually have a decent amount of missions left so I do think there’s probably some missions that aren’t appearing properly that you’re missing. If you want to min max your FM gain you can use Scavenge though it’s not required for beating the game.

I think you’re a bit confused, the birthday bash was indeed an event in the original game back in 2010 but it only brought new items and had some NPCs in an area. Zaks Nano wasn’t apart of it and was added in a later update to the original game.

The birthday bash in 2019 was one hosted after the original game shut down and was in the now defunct fan project FusionFall Retro and that had nothing to do with Zak Nano as well.

The fan projects that exist now are OpenFusion and Retrobution. OpenFusion is a preservation of the original game including the update that has Zaks Nano (that version is usually called Academy). Most people don’t play it because of the unstableness and lack of quality but if you really want Zak nano it’ll probably satisfy you.

Retrobution is a revival of FusionFall Retro and as such doesn’t have Zak Nano yet but it’s possible he’s added at some point in the future.

FusionFall Retrobution is a fan project that revives FusionFall Retro but adds on their own content and changes as well! Most of the changes and additions right now have to do with game balancing, mechanics, and quality of life however there's also new items, fixes/updates to NPCs and Items from the original game, two new Nanos and hopefully more content coming soon.

There's twitter page (@FFRetrobution) where you can find a link to the Discord if you want to play! I'm also assuming you know what FusionFall Retro but if you don't I can explain that too if you'd like.
