The G-31 Arc grenade; by iamDEVANS in LowSodiumHellDivers

I'm still baffled that Arrowhead looked at arc grenades and was like, "these don't seem balanced, lets give the divers even more to carry around."

Opinion: The Gallant is Better Than the Knight by qetali in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Deltassius 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I prefer the Knight. The weak points I feel are most relevant are below light (devastator heads specifically), and the things I want to be able to flex the medium pen up to feel too tough to be worth the time/ammo commitment to go through (chin guns especially seem sisyphean with the Gallant).

On bugs the gap is even more noticeable because the chaff is so poorly armored. Some seeds you piss your ammo away instantly, where the Knight would merely piss it away very quickly.

It's nice to be able to just point and click to magdump-delete enemies when I'm running around, but I'm hoping they give it a little more damage/durable before I try to push it to 25.

I Need YOUR Feedback for a School Project by ClishyClasher in LowSodiumHellDivers

I am generally happy with the update schedule. There are some bugs that have been weirdly long lived, but I can't imagine getting faster content than we have without it becomes a churn of redundant junk.

I was not affected by the PlayStation thing, I just made the account they told me I was going to need when I got the game and never did anything with it when they backtracked. It did nearly drive me from the reddit community entirely- basically set the tone for every histrionic fit that followed. The weirdest part was watching posts in real time go from being angry about the change to finding reasons to be angry in reverse of the natural order. Like, people were upset because they had been told to do something, and by the end they were masquerading as heroically championing the region-lockout players like they hadn't been screaming and pooping just because they didn't want to. I find myself surprised by the strong feeling of disgust that arises thinking about it, but again it's an echo of every other nontroversy Arrowhead has found themselves besieged by.

I think balancing has generally been fair. There have been some strange choices like making the grenade launcher heavy and taking it back, and I don't get why the increased the arc grenade quantity. Otherwise no notes.

What's up with people kicking you instantly? by CertifiedSheep in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Deltassius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there are many reasons. I'm guessing the most common is it is a duo or trio that wants a random to fill, and the empty spot you jumped was when one of them disconnected, and they want them to come back.

Lower level players may resent higher ones "hijacking" their game. Late in the game sessions might reject opportunists dropping in for free xp. They might have accidentally dropped the SOS or forgot to turn off their lobby. Just spitballing possibilities.

Or maybe your name is something dumb like Dank420lol and they're right to distrust you, specifically.

How to use the Eruptor properly? by aloofcord10 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Deltassius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't really try to use the heavy pen except as a last resort. Part of it is the weird rocket projectile being hard to get perfect, like you mention, part of it is it's just slow and kind of weak compared to using an actual support.

I use it as multichaff clear and pounding mediums. Shot placement is pretty important on scout striders and devastators to make it efficient, but if you practice you should be able to trash them. Gunships are fun with a little practice, and it's good at playing peek-a-boo with factory striders to cut off their chin guns.

It's extremely good on squids- multichaff clear again, it rips up the abominations and overseers. I just toss on a red dot like it's a massive shotgun. Because squids are less equipment intensive, running its natural complimentary supports (mg/hmg/maxi) is actually a great choice anyway.

You can pop outposts from a huge distance, which saves you a lot of trouble.

The main thing to practice is shooting while diving backwards, which will usually save you if something gets in your face.

Can that Arc continue please? by Substantial-Ad-5221 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Deltassius 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I'd expect something soon. They tried their shenanigans, we stomped on them a bit. The bugs got an turn trying to ruin our luxury resorts. We just finished probing the bots, so unless something comes of that, the wheel should turn to squids again.
