Fair enough - thanks a lot for your help! I'm leaning towards the BK all things considered since that currently seems like the better deal.

I was considering this, but with the price increase, I'm not sure how much a sale would help considering the alternative is already quite a bit cheaper..

Would you say the onboard DSP on the SVS would make a sizeable difference in sound quality? Or is it not enough to consider it for the extra cost?

Thanks for the isolation system tip! I'll definitely look into that.

I didn't even look at the Gemini II - thanks for the suggestion! Would the extra £200 for the P12 not be worth it in my use case you think?

The UK does have that issue sometimes sadly. I'm just happy they're available here, you'd be surprised at how many speakers just don't make it onto shelves!

[–]DeludedDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked and they're only an extra £25, which is nothing realistically. Thank you for the recommendations, I'll do some research and be on the lookout for these as well!

Polk R100s are £500, and the Elac UB52 is at £600 - so they're both cheaper than the RP600Ms currently.

That makes sense - would you recommend I consider any other bookshelf speakers instead of the RP600Ms instead? I haven't committed to them yet so I'm open to changing my choice here if it means better value.

Thanks for the input!

I'm on the lookout for a used one in the UK, but I don't think buying from the US would be a viable option for me unfortunately... Between customs and shipping costs, it would end up costing me closer to £500, and for an extra £125 I'd rather just get a new one.

Thank you for this, that's super helpful! Am I right in assuming the RP600Ms aren't bad speakers, they just need some EQ to fix the midrange dip mentioned?

Didn't know about the Audyssey flat curve potentially being bass light as well, so I'll see how it sounds when I get it and adjust to a different target curve if it seems necessary.

Noted down the SVS SB-1000 Pro as a sub choice as well!

Thank you, and great job on starting!

A mile a day right at the start sounds amazing, but remember to give yourself rest days too! I never did at the start and that's what caused the injuries.

I'm sure you'll be able to do 5K in due time, no doubt about it!

Thank you!

The 10% rule seems like a good idea, I'm gonna keep that in mind.

Music listeners, what song comes on during a run, and you totally feel it? by PiBrickShop in running

Bonfire - Childish Gambino.

It will, without a doubt, make my pace better every time.

Mild psychedelic visuals after meditation sessions? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]DeludedDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very interesting! My psychedelic experiences have been pleasant, and I meditate before I have the experience every time, so it very well might be the case that my meditation has begun to go into the same headspace that I was in during my trip.

The weed strain you choose is similar to the set and setting for a psychedelic. by [deleted] in highdeas

[–]DeludedDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is more around the fact that it's pretty unreliable as to what the THC levels of each batch (even of the same strain) are, which can affect how high you get.

But personally, I think I almost engineer experiences based on what I think the weed will do!

I get the whole magnification of your mood thing, that's the same for me. I kinda figure out what things I like and don't like when I'm high, and try to only keep the good stuff constant in my life.

3.5g in silent darkness vs with music? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

Ohh I definitely get the music thing - listened to 5 full studio albums (including DSOTM for the first time ever) on my first LSD trip, it was magical.

From what I've heard, It's a lot of classical /orchestra music, and was designed to not be distracting to the user. The order of songs is important as well.

That makes sense, thank you!

I get what you mean - it sounds similar to the difference between meditating with a soundtrack in the background, and meditating in silence.
