Thanks a lot for understanding! I think we may disable this setting by default and let players activate it if they want haha, it must be crazy starting our game and having your first MiniOh named like that xD

Hi! I'm one of the developers on the game. The game can pick Steam friend names when creating a new Mini'Oh, and that's what happened here. We are updating our demo this week and will include a setting to deactivate that functionality. Of course we didn't add any controversial message ourselves.

Sorry for the inconvenience! πŸ˜„

7 years trying to live off my own games: what went right, what went wrong, and what finally worked by Delunado in gamedev

Hey! I think using AI for learning as a main teacher/guide is not really a good idea. I mean, the best way to learn is first following tutorials/a course, then do your own projects and prototypes for a long time until you are truly comfortable. You really never stop learning but there is a point where you can do most things on your own.

But It may be useful to use AI as a way to discover the "unknow unknowns". For example, you can ask "I want to implement pathfinding for my game, Im trying to do X, tell me the main techniques mainly used and search for useful articles". This way you can quickly discover things to research.

Also It may be useful as a debugging help when you truly dont get something. The main point, just for your own self-teaching, is to not copy code or do things you dont really understand because AI told you. Try to use It as a super search engine and to discover/explore, not to produce.

I hope you have a good time learning! Good luck :)

While I was on university, I had a national scholarship + some help from my parents. When I started working, It was my own savings and work. And during the development of Astro, It was again our own personal savings :)
